Sturdy and great for the balcony where I live, but not all purpose.
The clamp is great for the fence style of where I live, but because of the design, it can only face inward and not on the other side of the balcony. Very sturdy, but make sure you get the right size. If it was more versatile on the types of fences and railing it could be used on, I would give it 5 stars.

Received damaged but almost perfect
One of the holders worked perfectly and I can tell that this is a very sturdy product. Unfortunately something was wrong with the other piece and I could not get it to screw on right (possibly the beginnings of a stripped screw). So far it is holding up, but I do not have much confidence in the one that was broken.

Great clamps - I plan to order more
Great for my balcony (which has an annoying and irregular, hollow hand-rail); very sturdy, solid construction. Make sure to slip the upright (backend) posts under the lip of your planter for added security. I would suggest keeping the planters INSIDE the balcony space as well (not hanging off) in the odd chance that a piece of hardware falls during the installation; the clamps/hardware are VERY heavy and could easily hurt someone (or destroy something) should they slip from your grip. All in all, a great buy; I plan to order more of these!

Great construction, clamps too small.
These are heavy duty and well constructed. I bought these after purchasing a round clamp bracket. However much to my dismay, the clamps on these are smaller than the clamp on the round holder by almost an inch and they didn't fit my ledge. Now i can't hang my planter box. For that reason I took off a star. Otherwise I'd have been thrilled with them.

Quality Window Brackets
These brackets were a pleasant surprise and look like they will last for years. . They were made in India. Finish was flat black and showed no damage from shipping. I used these to hang a 36" vinal flower box from a pool rail. I would definitely buy them again.

Sturdy and Well-Made
I bought two sets of these to hang window box-type planters on a metal balcony railing. They work perfectly and though they are pricier than many of the options, I think the quality is so good that they are worth it. I ended up needing only one set and the return of the other was super easy. Very happy!

Working for me
Holds on my wrought iron balcony railing which is an odd shape. I've had them on for several weeks now through wind and rain. Because of the shape of the railing the planter box is held at an angle, but that is fine. I'd buy more of them if they were less expensive.

Great product
Really great product. Hard to find anywhere. Only found this clamp on amazon through this supplier. Mine is 12 inches which is too big to use on the planters I’ve seen. But I use it to hold my hanging basket with strawberries and it works perfectly and looks beautiful. Also great cause you don’t have to put holes in your deck, which is why I originally wanted this specific type of clamp.
