Appears to be a helpful RN tool

As a floor nurse it's inevitable that a pt will come to the floor with a preexisting wound- it's our duty to document these findings and provide accurate measurements. This is just the right tool for the job- plus the material used for the tape itself appears to be easy to wipe down. The only thing I don't like is how it clicks at every inch (it does not retract on itself - you have to push a button to have it reel back in- which is a plus) but the click is on the loud side. Other than that minor complaint it doesn't appear to be a bad little tool. If that changes I will be sure to update.

California toxicity warning- whaaaatttt?

This little tape measure is great. I bought it to keep in my bag so I can measure items for my home to be sure they'll work in a space before buying them. For this purpose it's perfect. I gave it three stars, though, because there is a warning on the casing for California residents that it contains a chemical that has been known to cause cancer in animals. This really made me not want to use it, like ever. Very discouraging. I'm sure it did nothing, but I extended to tape to its maximum point & wiped it down several times, along with the outside casing. I felt better but I'm sure I was just deluding myself. At least I don't use it that often.

A simple small handy tape measure

Rather than having a 'cloth tape' that you fold up and rubberband, I got this and both myself and my lovely bride have found it to be very handy around the house. It is light-duty, so a bit of care should be used, and do try to not let it be used as a toy, or it may well break. But when used as intended, it works very well, has both inches and millimeter (one on each side), it will lock open, and you simply push the small button in the center when you want it to retract. Will buy again as needed. I like it.

Simple and easy to use

Not much to this little round measuring tape. It easily pulls out to measure and recoils quickly. I have had no issues with it. I use it for body measurements. I would not use it for any sort of heavy duty measuring because I don't think it is 100% accurate. It's just a simple little tape measure for a low price. I really have no complaints.

Does the Job

I use this tape primarily for body measurements, and love that it's flexible and isn't too wide. Mine looks just as pictured, unlike the reviewer who said they got something different. I've had this tape measure for about 3 years without it breaking or falling apart. That said, the casing is just thin plastic and the tape itself isn't especially thick, so I can also see how it'd break for other reviewers. Even with dropping mine on a tile floor plenty of times, it's held up nicely and the retractor button still works.

Please be wary of purchasing this item!!!!

After I received this Item in the mail, I received a substitue tape measure. It was blue and has "JOBST 1-800-537-1063" on the front of it. This substituted item never retracted when the button was pressed. I opened it to see if I could adjust the tension in the spring, but the whole product fell apart. I honestly feel as though I purchased a "bate & switch" product! The name of the seller is, Medical Department Stores - Amazon Market Place; fh94y67p9d0p4xk@marketplace.amazon.com. The Manager who replied to me is Christine Jacobson & she had 7 email addresses under her title of other online stores. This is clearly a company that is only interested in a quick buck & wants to avoid any true customer service to right the wrong her company created. I told Christine (via email of course) that I ordered it because it is manditory for my Ortho. Diag. class & I needed a replacement ASAP. She said she would not replace it & she could not get it to me in any "quicker" fashion than I received the orginal junk product. It It is companies like this that makes me second guess why I try to get a descent product at a good price on Amazon.com.

GREAT deal! Compact, lightweight, and retractable!

Easily fits in pocket while working around the house. Great for projects! I bought 3! (For kitchen junk drawer, toolbox, and workshop/sewing/project area.) I like having things RIGHT where I need them. Good buy; so many uses!
