Work great to change icemaker source
Did what it was supposed to, allowing me to feed the icemaker/fridge water from the RO system. I have various things from the Apec company and I like their products, nothing about them feel cheap or cheezy.

Buy the bypass plug save $$
The media could not be loaded. Amazon sells a bypass plug you have to get the one that is specific for your fridge but this kit works well comes with everything you will need to tre into your existing reverse osmosis system or filter and it just works!! save time and frustration by getting this when you order your kit you will not be disappointed I am not being paid or endorsed just sharing my experience as this was a huge Time saver having everything ready to splice into the existing spicket

A must have if you go RO
This is an absolute must-have if you plan on installing an RO setup and have a fridge that has an ice maker and/or water dispenser. Not only does it make better financial sense to go this route (the proprietary filters in fridges are badly over-priced), but the filters in these fridges usually don't do squat when it comes to "filtering" compared to an RO system. We installed an RO system at the office here (break area) and brought it to the fridge with this. The fridge is a Whirlpool Gold series with ice/water and it's special filters that cost $30-$40+ each and they try to get you to replace them every 3 months (per the built-in timer/reminder). The filter never brought the PPM of the water down much (took it from close to 500 to around 460-470 on average. We removed the filter in the fridge to bypass it and allowed the "now" clean water from the RO to replace the normal water line, and PPM is now around 9-12. So ditch the fridge filters and drink water that truly is clean. Use this adapter to split from the RO system feeding your sink (or wherever it is initially feeding) to include the fridge as well. You won't regret it. Installation is also quick and easy, especially once you are always used to the setup of the RO system itself. The only hard part ("hard" can be debatable depending on your situation) is decided how you want to run it to the fridge. We just drilled holes in the top/back portion of the cabinets and run the line behind all of the sliding drawers. Out of sight, out of touch. Installed in about 10-15 minutes tops (not including the setup time of the RO system of course). This is a perfect kit of utensils for those who like to travel around and camp via vehicle. You get everything one person would ever need, regardless of the meal their hearts are set on, which is the biggest selling point. The carrying case also helps to keep everything together within a small space with protect them from being scratched by other things in the area. As for camping, I did make sure to word it carefully for those traveling by vehicle to camp. These are steel, which means they have weight. Nothing abnormal, but heavier than what you would bring with you if you were to backpack to your destination (in those situations, you want to stick to aluminum or carbon fiber to reduce your pack weight). So if you are traveling in ways where you aren't counting every pound of your weight, these are perfect! This also means they are more affordable, hence the price (vs the inflated price of aluminum or carbon fiber utensils). With the choice between black or silver, black is clearly the obvious choice since it sets them apart from every other pair of utensils you run into (given, that's just one person's personal opinion). We'd post some pictures but Amazon has turned off the ability to include images for the time being. Hopefully, we can come back and add them later when all of this lockdown business is over. **If you have found our review helpful, please vote it as helpful below so I know. This helps me provide quality feedback in the future.

Please include a Compression Nut, Sleeve and Insert with future releases of this APEC Icemaker kit
It comes with the parts as advertised, but it doesn't come with (nor does it imply that it came with) a compression nut, sleeve and insert to hook up to the refrigerator. I would've gladly put in another few dollars (if not five) to save the time/hassle of trying to find a suitable setup to complete the installation. There was plenty of hose, the "T" and valve hookups went on quickly and with no leaks, it is simply the fact that the kit feels incomplete, at least in my eyes, and that is why I chose to rate this kit as "okay" and not outstanding. Fair warning, this is a tangent from here on explaining reutilization of the house's refrigerator icemaker water spigot to feed the input/untreated water to the Reverse Osmosis (RO) system (APEC ROES-50 in my case). This would allow me to omit hooking up the feed water adapter 1/2" with needle valve kit (Page 5, Figure 4 of the ROES-50 system manual ver 1.3). I drilled a hole to run the lines (The RO Input water line, illustrated between "X" and "A" on the Icemaker Kit Connection Diagram and the filtered Refrigerator Icemaker water feed line, shown after the Tee fitting between "H" and "Z" on the same diagram) through the cabinet wall (and behind my dishwasher) to the RO system (located underneath my kitchen sink). I used a new steel braided line to run from the spigot towards the RO system (http://www.amazon.com/Eastman-48387-Ice-Maker-Connector/dp/B00KACHDKS/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1431047950&sr=8-1-fkmr0&keywords=EASTMAN+5+1800+Psi+Stainless+Steel+Ice+Maker+Connector) and a BrassCraft 1/4-In x 1/4-In x Compression Elbow Fitting (using only the elbow itself, I did not utilize the inserts/sleeves included with this kit) (http://www.amazon.com/Brasscraft-65-4-Union-Elbow-Rough/dp/B0026GXXNW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1431048101&sr=8-1&keywords=BrassCraft+1%2F4-In+x+1%2F4-In+x+Compression+Elbow+Fitting) to use as a union between the new braided feed line and the RO untreated water in line (I used the same line that hooked up to detail "X" on the diagram; it fits perfectly onto the elbow - note, that I removed the needle valve and feed water adapter assembly completely and just hooked up the compression nut/sleeve/insert that was already installed on the input water line directly to the union elbow). In addition to that I also installed a ball valve (identical to the one that comes with the kit that I'm reviewing) on the RO side of the Compression Elbow fitting to be able to turn off the water feed without having to pull out the refrigerator to turn off the spigot behind it. The RO filters will need to be changed eventually and it will be a pain to have to pull out the refrigerator to turn off the input water feed. The ball valve is equivalent to this item (http://www.amazon.com/John-Guest-PPSV040808W-Speedfit-Straight/dp/B005XTQIKY/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1431048738&sr=8-6&keywords=1%2F4-in+Push+Fit+Straight+Valve). In Hindsight, It would've been easier (and cheaper) to just build an entire new line from the spigot to the input (untreated) water feed to the RO system and install a ball valve inline. It would've just required some 1/4" OD plastic line (similar to what was included with the APEC Icemaker kit reviewed here), a compression nut/sleeve/insert for the spigot side and just unscrew the nylon compression nut with buillt-in sleeve and remove the insert (Included with the ROES-50 system, detail "A" on the diagram) and reutilize them on the newly built line. I would've installed the ball valve on this line and have it accessible near the RO system to kill the input feed when it came time to change the filters. Why did I do this? I installed a new faucet that came with integrated supply lines (http://www.amazon.com/59963-SSSD-DST-Heritage-Pull-Down-Dispenser-Stainless/dp/B00BKU5MES/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1431051705&sr=8-2&keywords=delta+lakeview+kitchen+faucet) that would've been a bear to hookup the feed water adapter 1/2" with needle valve kit inline with the new supply line, so I ventured out to use the house's refrigerator water feed spigot instead. So far, so good. I would love to see APEC include instructions (even if just an optional install instruction available on their website) for utilization of the refrigerator Icemaker spigot (for those homes that have them) with this Icemaker kit (heck, the RO system manuals too honestly). And for reference, I just heard the ice come crashing down in my icemaker (the one in my refrigerator, I am not using a standalone), so I'm lucky that my system provides enough pressure for my Icemaker to work. Some icemakers require a minimum input PSI and there isn't a guarantee that your system will be able to meet that minimum requirement and may require a permeate pump (the RO's output PSI is going to be dependent upon your home's water pressure - that will be what feeds your input/untreated water line and the output is obviously going to be less after going through the RO system, so higher in, higher out - read more from APEC's site here: http://www.freedrinkingwater.com/support/general-knowledge-base/how-much-pressure-can-ro-deliver-to-my-ice-maker).

Excellent connection from Apex RO filter system and my refrigerator
This connection was extremely easy to install on both my Apec reverse osmosis system and refrigerator. The installation instructions were easy to follow. The press fit tubing connectors were easy to use. There were no leaks. The water that went to refrigerator thru the tubing had no plastic taste.

Good and easy for installation
It took me half hour to set everything done. Most time consuming is we have to drill a hole under the sink cabinet to pass the tube from basement roof to connect icemaker water tube. (Our original icemaker get water from basement water supply pipe)
