A bit pricey but its decent!
I started shaving with DE razors a 8 years ago and the results were not good so I stopped. In retrospect I was using the wrong shaving angle. With a pre shave routine and correct shaving angle you can get a decent shave with this razor. For a pre shave routine; I wash my face, use hot towel then apply shaving moisturizer followed by shave cream. Now I need to find compatible DE razors refills that are cheaper than bevel's?

honestly the best safety razor i've ever owned
Used this as soon as I got it on a week of facial hair growth and got the closest shave I've had in years. All my friends noticed, and I woke up the next morning without stubble and without any visible skin irritation. I have coarse (read: Italian) facial hair and nothing I've ever used has done as well as this razor has. It also feels much more comfortable in the hand than the one I was using before (some no-name butterfly razor that always felt like it didn't hold the blade down well enough).

Good for thick, coarse hair
I used this razor after my facial hair got so thick it was almost a beard, and I run a trimmer to it. Then I used the Bevel razor for the leftover stubble. I tend to shave with multiple strokes, so I cut myself in a few places, and on one of the spots on my chin, I cut myself so bad it bled for an hour maximum. Use with caution, this is your grandpa’s kind of male grooming product. And it doesn’t tug as hard as, say, the Dollar Shave Club Executive 6 blade I am loyal to.

Nice design, very aggressive
The razor is very nice. The fit and finish is very sleek and finely tuned. However, the razor is VERY aggressive. I am not new to wet shaving and safety razors, but this is the most aggressive razor I have ever used. Almost every time I used it, I would have several nicks on my face. It got to the point that daily use was not realistic because I had to let things heal before I shaved again. I think the razor is a tremendous value, and I am sure there are many men who love this razor, just for me, it was too aggressive.

Good, But Not Worth the Premium
3 stars — returned; not worth the premium price The Bevel has a gorgeous design and an excellent weight for a safety razor handle. They tried to make it easy to let gravity do most of the work (which reduces nicks and burns). For me, it's weak in three important functions. First, the handle is short. Even with small hands, it's challenging to get a secure and comfortable grip. Second, it's difficult to keep clean during a shave. With minimal gel, it should be easy to rinse in warm/hot water. Instead, it kept getting clogged because there is insufficient room at the bottom for debris. I frequently had to loosen the blade. And that brings us to the third issue: it's tricky to loosen the handle. You have to grip the handle and twist the head, which means taking care not to touch the blade. I also worried that the handle would become loose while shaving. It seems very secure, but it's hard to trust "seems" in the long run. None of these are deal-breaking issues on their own, except that they also come with a premium price.

Great shave, poor quality, good customer service
Update: Company finally responded and I eventually received a replacement. We'll see how long this one lasts. Kudos to Bevel for making it "right". I purchased this razor 15 months ago. There was a little learning curve but I had the closest shave I've ever had. At 15 months, I went to change a blade and the threads were stripped. Worthless. I emailed the company and have had no response.

Great for a sink shave!
Really smooth retention. Good materials. Ideal weight. I also use a butterfly blade install type, and I find this one stays in place and doesn't get loose--so no accidental cuts. The handle texture is great for the sink, but may not be best for the shower. I'm going to buy another, just in case they go out of manufacture!

Best shave in a long time
I started to develop some post-inflammatory pigmentation along my moustache line, with the use of other common shavers, and so someone recommended Bevel to me. I definitely get a very close shave with this product. After a few weeks of use, there seems to be some decreased ingrown hair formation. I really like the weight of the unit, which makes the whole process easy as you do not have to apply much external pressure. It also has a very cool design, and replacement blades are very affordable. Would definitely recommend.

Well made, but cause significant skin irritation
Well made product. Shaving is very much subjective with everyone’s skin being different, however using this razor really gave me many nicks and significant irritation. Have used an alternative safety razor since with no such problems, so my technique seems ok. Product returned.
