Just Like the Original

There was no problem with this product other than the usual. It is not the easiest to load into the trimmer, and it is a nightmare if it gets tangled or breaks during use. Lots of luck if you ever have to rewind it. You have to rewind one side and then try to hold it down while you rewind the other side, and then hold both sides down (with ends on opposite sides of the spool) with a small piece of string extended far enough to thread into the trimmer base. All this while the string is trying to escape your hands. Enough said? I would never buy another trimmer that uses this type of refill, but the trimmer refuses to die. It's been working like a champ for well over 12 years.

It works correctly = job gets done

My husband tried hand-rewinding the spool that came with our GrassHog with replacement line, since this spool wasn't available at our local store. The rewound spool didn't work, gave him multiple problems (line wouldn't feed, line breaks, line didn't last very long, etc.) I balked at the price of this spool, but then I came up with the following equation... Frustrated husband + Tool that doesn't work right = Job doesn't get done So I ordered this spool to see if it would work correctly for him. Not only does it work, but he has none of his previous problems. The tool works, my husband isn't frustrated, so the job is now getting done. For me, the cost is worth it now. We don't have a large yard, so I will probably only have to buy 2 to last for the Spring/Summer season.

In Craftsman brand packaging

Item is great and works as expected. It was nice to see that the item was in Craftsman retail packaging (wasn't mentioned in the listing) as it give me more confidence it wouldn't give me any issues. As mentioned, I have already used it and it works well.

Wrong spool!

I ordered this for a specific Black & Decker trimmer and it did not fit. Why advertise you will fit for a specific trimmer when you know it won't work? Fortunately, I was able to use the string and rewound the old trimmer spool with the string from this spool.

Popped right into my old black and decker grasshog trimmer

My neighbor gave me an old electric black and decker grasshog trimmer. It just needed new line. This was all I needed. I watched a three minute YouTube video that showed me how to pull the old one out and pop this one in. Super easy! Worked perfectly.

Don't bother... get a new trimmer!

Terrible. I installed it after attempting to re-wire thread myself on the trimmer (a disaster...and potentially impossible) Everyone said to buy specific replacement. I attempted to install, instantly everything became loose as I attempted to commence trimming. The "Grass Hog" ought to be avoided at all costs. I have since replaced the trimmer with a lime green HD brand, and am EXTREMELY pleased. For $100 to avoid the stress of this mess... Take my money!

While installing it ,the spool undo itself

So while instaling the wire came off.big.time.had to manually roll, which came.off to the same if i manually bougt the wire and did it myself instead of being lazy. It did fit my mower and it did the job but i paid extra for less effort

Wound like crap

Easy to instal but garbage product. Wound terribly and sucked it all out of my unit. I let used the whole spool in 15 minutes got knotted up In grass. . Will buy the no name ones and wind myself from now on.

EXACTLY RIGHT AND GOOD PRICE

I had thought that my Black and Decker electric Grasshog weed eater, which apparently is no longer made, had been rendered obsolete but these spools are the right ones and I am very pleased to be able to use my machine again.
