Super Warm

Warmest gloves I have ever owned. Was deciding between these and the Marmot Ultimate. Read reviews that these had the "Gore Warm" insulation as opposed to just Gore Active, basically a tiny difference of insulation, but I skied in negative temps in Vermont and these kept my hands very warm as long as I stayed moving. Only recommendation is that I suggest adding your own safety leash to keep them from falling when you have to take them off.

Sizing is tricky, but quality is undisputed

These are the gold standard among skiers. The difference between Crew and Guide is the amount of leather. They are not true mountaineering gloves (not warm enough for sub zero extended climbs), but they work great in the Colorado high country during winter. Expensive, but worth it. You should also consider the Guide model as it comes in 'lobster claw' and mitten. I prefer mitten, but got these for my son who likes gloves. Sizing is tricky. It's worth your time to go to REI and try some on.
