Easiest and Smallest Under Sink Britta Filter

This is the simplest and most space saving Britta under sink filter that they make. At the time of this review they were out of replacement filters for it. I think stocking up on them is key with a system like this. Once the filter is full it will need to be changed or else could actually make the water quality worse if it releases back into the water old toxins. Otherwise a bypass system would be nice so that you can bypass the filer if you don't have any replacements on hand or can't get any because they are out of stock. Otherwise you will need to disconnect the filter. Perhaps another design that would work would be one in which you can remove the depleted filter but the housing would still allow water thru even if you haven't installed a new filter back. This simply all in one filter provides space savings as you can mount it to the side of your sink base cabinet and keep it off the bottom of the cabinet. There is only a single filter to replace. However or best filtration I would also look at their other multi-cartridge systems that can provide better performance. To me this is a great choice for single people or low use faucets.

Easy to install, good flow, great taste

This is working great for me and it is very, very similar to a no-name brand that I first installed a year ago. This replaced it and I’ve not noticed a difference (which is great) other than this making the water flow way, way faster...which makes sense as the other was a bit clogged due to the well water it is on (filtered water but this makes it perfect). This was a bit intimidating to start to install but it is working very well and wasn’t nearly as tough as I had imagined. I was just worried about it leaking under the sink but it’s good to go. It isn’t invasive, doesn’t take up too much room, and it should last a while. Pros: Great filtration Easy install Quality filter Doesn’t restrict water flow too much Good taste Cons: Isn’t super cheap Overall, I would definitely recommend checking out this one or one very similar if you’re in a situation in which you have some well water or some that needs to be filtered.

Broken on delivery

Too late to return, when I finally got around to installing it the head assembly was cracked. Leaks everywhere of course. Junk Edit... after buying a new head (a difficult task) the filter part works fine.

We had a different, more complex, and much more expensive water filtration system installed, but the replacement filters were long overdue and cost $399! These are challenging times, so I just stopped drinking tap water as it started tasting like chlorine until I got the Brita pitcher at Costco. Our water is hard and heavily processed and tastes like what you don’t want to taste; I honestly don’t believe it’s safe to drink, no matter what City says. Anyways, I was happy to receive this Brita filter and have it installed because the pitcher is big, takes up too much counter space, and I hate refilling it. It’s a waste of my life. Compared to the previous filtration system we had, I think the water tastes about the same, except Brita filters 58 sediments while the other one filtered 80+. However, Brita is much more affordable and still removes worst of the worst such as sediment, chlorine taste and stench, lead, benzene & mercury. It looked like the installation was easy. It’s encapsulated design, and when replacement is due, you just need to pull out the old filter and pop in the new one; no need to shut down your water. Filter life is six months or 2000 gallons. Price is very reasonable, especially for families. The cost of bottled water for a household of 4 is much more than the price of this filter. Not to mention how much waste we eliminate by not buying plastic bottles.

Easy to install; filters out a lot of contaminants but no data provided

Brita BRDPFS Water Filtration System I've been using 3M Filtrete 3US-MAX-F01 filters over the past years. I've used Brita faucet and pitcher filters in the past but have never used a Brita under-the-sink filter because I've never seen one before. I was eagerly awaiting my package because I wanted to see this filter's performance data sheet (usually included in the product package). I was very disappointed. There was a performance data sheet in the installation and operation manual but they didn't provide performance data. All it said was "The concentration of the indicated substances in water entering the system was reduced to a concentration less than or equal to the permissible limit for water leaving the system, as specified in NSF/ANSI 42 and 53." What a very qualitative description. I don't know why they didn't include numerical data in their performance data sheet for this filter when they've always included detailed numerical data with their faucet filters. That said, this filter was very easy to install. It came with a housing bracket, just like the 3M Filtrete filter, so all that was needed was to screw the bracket to the cabinet side wall. Just like with any other filter, I let water flow through the cartridge before finally hooking it up to my hot/cold water dispenser/faucet and instant hot water tank. This Brita filter filters out a lot more contaminants than my 3M Filtrete filter. I'd buy this (Brita) and the 3M Filtrete water filters over the numerous unknown brands being sold here on Amazon because these two brands do actually get their water filters tested and certified by ANSI-accredited certification bodies.

Easy to install

I installed this under our kitchen sink pretty easily. We have a well and a whole home filter on the house, but I worry about other contaminants getting through. I typically use a filtering jug in the fridge, but it’s a pain to keep refilling. Enter the Brita filter. The cost of the filters is good, and less than the cost of the jug filters, plus no need to wait for filtered water. I drink about a gallon of water a day, so this is so helpful!
