Made for impact, to last a lifetime

Made for impact, to last a lifetime, these bocce balls are made of the same resin used to make pool / billiard balls. They are beautifully finished, and full of substance. Easy to throw and retrieve, they track like a high quality bowling ball, and indeed that is what they are intended to do. This is an ideal set if you are tired of others that crack and break after just a few seasons. If you are getting more serious about the game, or want to buy a set for a gift, this is the set for you. These could last a lifetime, and are well worth the premium price.

Not at all scratch resistant

So they say scratch resistant even on asphalt. Well not even true on DG Even scratches on the smallest pebble After one game it looked 20 years old Very misleading

Solid and true phenolic resin balls, very attractive.

Visiting my grandparents in Pennington, NJ as a child, Bocce, badminton, and croquet were the common outdoor games amongst the cousins; indoor was largely backgammon, cribbage, and the occasional game of Mille Bornes. Much to my delight, the recreation center here in Dublin, OH has a dedicated Bocce court, and so I had intended to pick up a set even before this one came up for review. These are phenolic resin balls, that's a durable polymer and what's important about the makeup is that a ball made of a solid and durable material is going to roll more reliably true than one that has an uneven core of waste, fillers, and other incongruous materials. While I haven't cut these in half to test Champion Sports' manufacturing claim, I can say that the set I received roll very true (straight), demonstrate no balance deficiencies, are nicely polished, the grooves machine cut and clean -- and that's really just about all you can ask for in a set. Many lower priced options can't make these claims, and that's okay if you're going to be playing on a lawn or other uneven surface where a little chaos in the roll of the ball is lost in the uneven quality of the ground. The nylon bag is durable and attractive, everything fits perfectly so there's little jostling or banging around. Very happy with these, happy to recommend. If one ever splits or cracks I'll subject it to the bandsaw and update with core pictures.

Great set, just as shown.

This is a nice bocce set. Comes in a handy case, good weight. Can play with 2 or 4 people because each colour of balls has different marking on them (for 4 people).

If in professional league possibly beware.

Well it’s been 2 weeks and had first mishap with a broken ball, they seemed to have held up really good. But this one has me concerned. Considering I purchased 5 sets.
