Full Size Electric Grill

This grill is full size, so it replaces a stand alone gas grill. The temperature control is a multiple function control. You press it in to initiate a change from Fahrenheit to Celsius. You also press it in when the grill is on to set the target temperature. I would have preferred that those be separate controls, since it is easy to switch degree scales inadvertently. The grill is fast to heat up, and reliable in reaching the desired temperature. The food then cooks to completion for a great meal.

my first takes

received on 24th and assembled on October 2nd due to hurricane. assembly was straight forward , took one hour total, packaging was excellent..after assembly fired up grill and cooked 2 steaks, it took 15 minutes to heat grill to 500 degrees, the meat cooked fairly fast and left grill marks like my propane weber...using self clean feature it did a fairly good job..my concern was 1750 watts, and 14.5 amps ... I have a tv on that 20 amp circuit a small wine cooler and lights. using an amp meter and testing the total amps was 17.5 and the unit handled it no problem. I installed a20 amp gfi on the outdoor plug that was newly installed for the grill. all in all I was impressed with the grill...better than I had anticipated...would buy again

It's Electric!

Ok, Here it is. This is a full size electric grill. Heavy , Feel of a gas grill , but EZ to use! It shines in that it will hold a steady temperature, Plug in a regular outlet and it will sit there at 275° and slow cook and render chicken legs, close the lid and walk away, slow cook ribs or pork butt, add some wet chips to grill top! Of turn it up for burgers or steaks, it sears! 709°!Great grill marks! I believe this is the first time an electric grill has the heft and feel of a propane grill. Nice xl digital temp readout. Self cleaning,but do not expect it to look like new, it burns the grease off but it still looks like a grill on the inside. I love this grill Charbroil is cutting edge with this. Nothing else out there like it! Buy the Charbroil cover made for it. Fits really well,tailored to it. Go green, go electric!

So far it’s exactly what I’d hoped

First, right out of the box it took me 59 minutes to fully assemble and have it preheating. Overall the instructions were easy to follow all of the parts I needed were there and as a bonus I had no leftover parts. It took about 20 minutes to preheat to 500° which is not bad at all for an electric grill in my experience. This one is replacing the smaller version charbroil grill that was a piece of junk. I haven’t yet cooked on it so I’m leaving it at four stars for now.

Does not live up to expectactions

On the surface this looks like a great grill, the functionality and control system were a big draw - stainless steel quality and the size as well. Unfortunately it does not live up to it's billing as the entire thing is magnetic (not stainless) so it's going to rust like crazy where I live. It gets very hot, but the temperature I see with my infrared thermometer does not reflect what the control said it was. I do love the way it looks and the knob/readout of the temperature but on/off and press buttons for self clean don't react well and are frustrating to use. I called the support line and unfortunately they don't even know what the answers are to get self-clean to work so it does not clean itself at all which is a big disappointment. It gets really dirty and is very difficult to clean up after grilling. Would not recommend for the money, I'd return it if I kept the packaging....
