Different performance than long barrel Chi

The bottom line is that I like it. It just has different pros and cons than the traditional long barrel (pink) Chi that I couldn’t find here on Amazon when that one broke. If you are new to Chi, the heating units have about a 2 year life, so don’t be surprised, it’s just wear and tear. So, short barrel means a little less airflow speed. I used to leave the focusing attachment (forgot real name) on when I rough dried all my hair. (I have long, wavy, fine but dense hair.) I just never removed it, because the airflow was strong. With the short barrel, I have to remove the attachment, and that dries my hair in the same amount of time as the long barrel with focus thing attached. The heating unit gets very, very hot, and the short barrel means you are closer to it. I usually have to turn the heat down to the low setting toward the end of my drying. Not a problem and glad there is a low setting. Speaking of settings, the classic Chi didnt have these, and I am loving them. I get more control over my bangs on the low speed setting, which gives a nicer finish to them. The low heat setting is great for drying my toddler’s hair. A con for me is the short handle. All the settings are under your grip, so it’s been something to figure out how to hold comfortably. In my opinion, the setting switches should be on the opposite side of the handle, I dont know. It’s just so short of a handle that you can escape the switches. I dont know why anyone would need to switch settings like they were in a shoot out. I wish they were somewhere away from where you grip. Its not a deal breaker, but I don’t know how a stylist would deal with that grip all day. Im ok with my 15 min. I am excited to travel with this, the long barrel Chi ate so much suitcase space. I recommend it, unless you need high high speed to dry your hair. It’s plenty hot, though!

Great dryer for my curly hair

This dryer with a diffuser has made a huge difference in the appearance and effort required for my naturally curly hair. I got numerous compliments y first day at work after receiving and using this dryer. The only frustrating piece is my diffuser (which I had before the dryer) doesn't stay on and I can't find any information on which diffuser to buy to work best with this dryer.
