Not for heavy chewers

Only took a few minutes for my Bully to shred it. Good toy, but not for heavy chewers

Can’t handle hard ground impacts

TLDR: Easy to throw, good tug toy but don’t leave with chewers and definitely don’t let it land on hard surfaces (driveway). Bought this to try out with my Border Collie. He likes it and it’s easy to get some good distance using the attached straps. He also likes to play tug with it which the straps also make easy. If I leave the toy with him, he will chew on it like it’s a bone so definitely not something to be left laying around as the plastic can’t stand up to dog jaws. The biggest disappointment is that he ends are removable caps and after one good end landing on our driveway, the end cap broke in several places causing the cap to fall off. I’m not sure why this toy could be made as a single piece or welded closed at the factory with epoxy. I took the liberty of epoxying the cap onto the tube and I hope that this will prevent further damage to the toy but out of the box it isn’t going to survive long with hard impact landings. Otherwise, the toy does what it says it does and my dog enjoys playing fetch with it.

Good toy for light to medium chewers! Not really “rugged” as labeled.

The media could not be loaded. Well, the big guy absolutely loved this ChuckIt toy. Unfortunately I have to say that in past tense, as it lasted less than 24 hours for our 120# German Shepherd. He *is* a very heavy chewer, though. It looks like it is actually constructed pretty well and might last much longer for a medium chewer. That, in combination with the rapid damage observed after some unsupervised chewing that was allowed in this case (because, Hey! ...it’s Christmas!), leads me to give it three stars. Once he got the end chewed off of it, the otherwise very durable rubber veins of this toy were very enticing for him to chew off with little scissor bites and apparently tasty enough to swallow... DEFINITELY a toy that should be enjoyed under supervision. For the right dog, and with the right level of attention, I think this toy is actually a great product like most ChuckIt brand toys we have bought over the years—Just not for strong or heavy chewers. I don’t know that I would label it as “rugged,” though. I ended up discarding the toy after a week. Even with only supervised chewing, the hard plastic core allowed for sharp shards of plastic to be broken off when gnawed.

Doesn't last if dog is a chewer

Seemed OK a a throw toy. Soon as he could chew on it my chocolate lab had it torn apart in 5 minutes flat.

best dog toy for aggressive chewer and active dog

Love this toy. I accidentally ran over it in my driveway and popped an end off. Still was able to entertain dog, but I bought a replacement. This is such a good toy. It floats. Can play tug with it. Easy to toss. Doesn't get dirty. She loves the grooves when we roll it in her mouth. This is a great toy.

Still getting used to it.

The texture is very different from a traditional bumper. My dog took a while to embrace it with enthusiasm, but she’s finicky.

Doubling as a chew toy and holding up.

The media could not be loaded. My first ever product review. I have had these toys (I got a second right away) for 6 months now. I like to carry a go bag when I go out. A toy to help fend off boredom some snacks and water. I have had other Chuckit brand toys but my guy likes to play keep away on the return and they just weren’t Durable enough. Until now! This was well made. The dog gives the texture 10/10. Thanks Chuckit!

Utter Rubbish and Dangerous

Utterly shocked this lasted no more than 15 minutes... extremely disappointed because Chuckit toys are normally very good. No way is it durable and should be taken off the market.. dangerous.. thankfully my dog is never left with toys.. she could have choked if I hadn't grabbed it from her.

Good but not for the strong chewers

My staffy loves this toy. He seems to do ok with the rubber toys from the chuck it brand so I thought this toy would be ok. The orange rubber is very strong and doesn’t appear to be damaged. However after a day and a bit hes already had one of the ropes out, pulled one of the blue plastic ends out and the other end the plastic has snapped. The plastic underneath has turned super sharp and I’ve had to take it away. Can’t help but think it would better if it had a full rubber coating and no plastic on it.

Not study at all

This product lasted less than 10 minutes really do not recommend this product it’s the only chuck it toy we have ever bought that has not lasted the balls have been fabulous Both ends came off and the rubber is easily detaches from the main toy

Rugged it is claimed but rugged it ain't

I should have read the comments ....we have the ball which is still intact after some years but not this one ...ii is dangerous for dogs as it is easily destroyed through chewing

Lasted 2 days. Dissapointed

Dog loved it. But destroyed it in 2 days. I was expecting a bit more durability in the Chew department. Really dissapointed bevause I thought we'd had a winner.
