Straps are too tight

I have purchased these exact shoes in two other colors and I absolutely love them. They are cute, versatile, and very comfortable. So, naturally, I wanted to buy them in this pretty color. The color was on point, however, the top strap that goes over the top part of the foot was way too tight. I had my younger daughters try them on as well to see if it was just my feet being too thick. Even my 12 year old said it was tight.

Comfortable, not for wide feet

The Clark Arla Sandal is very comfortable. If and I love all Clark shoes. If you happen to have a wider foot, I would pass on this sandal because it does not have a way to adjust the strap over the toes and the strap around your heel is not very long, it’s fine for me, I can leave it on the velcro and slide my foot in. I have a lot of back problems and my feet swell on occasion and the sandals are a little tight due to my feet swelling, but I still love them, they have a lot of support and are comfortable.

What’s with the extra long back strap?

These sandals are really comfy and cute, but I had to deduct a star because of the back strap. The tightest it goes is still flopping off my heel when I walk. Was the person in charge of sizing just doing a mix and match with the straps?

Has Potential with a few adjustments

In theory these shoes are great, In practice they don't live up to what they should be. As received I would give them 3 1/2 stars but if you have time to make your own adjustments they can easily be 5 stars. The shoe bed fits true to size and yes they are extremely comfortable. They're also cute and match with nearly everything. The cons? The velcro placement and size makes absolutely no sense. As other reviewers mentioned the velcro strip is short and therefore leaves room for the strap to be lose around your ankle meaning the shoe moves a lot when you walk. It doesn't make sense why the velcro fastener wouldn't be made an inch or so longer for proper adjustment and for flexible sizing. I purchased these for a last minute trip and when they arrived I had my fingers crossed that the velcro wouldn't be an issue for me, unfortunately it was. They arrived the same day as my trip so I ran to the store and bought an adhesive velcro fastener which did the trick until I arrived in humid weather and as expected the adhesive velcro I added undid itself. For purposes of my trip the shoe was pretty much useless for this reason. However, now that I am back and have time I will add velcro once again and stitch it down to the shoe for future use. If you have the time to this simple fix I recommend this shoe and it would instantly be a 5 star shoe. My rating is based on the inconvenience of receiving a shoe for a trip last minute and not having time to make proper adjustments (When you buy something you want it to work as is not have to take extra steps to make it functional).

Good, comfortable shoe

It was a little wide for me, but I have a very, very narrow foot. But all in all, a very comfortable shoe.

Very comfortable sandals

Love these sandles, very very comfortable, probably the most comfortable sandle I've ever felt on my foot! Very good support for walking especially if your prone to sore feet easily. No break in period. A little narrow for my somewhat wide size 8 foot (I was only able to order a size 8M and took the risk even though I'm certain a wide might have been a better choice. But I was able to wiggle my foot in. And they feel great! I gave 4 stars because the band over the top part of my foot is not elastic like the band over the toes, which would have been a better fit for the wide top of my foot, and because 1 foot is always a little bigger than the other, the strap on the back doesn't have a long enough velcro to fasten tighter. It still works though. Definitely happy with my purchase.
