Never cold again

I think I’ve found the best winter coat ever. I am always cold and went on the search for a new winter coat this season. I found the Lay D Down after some obsessive research—and this coat is worth every penny. It’s super warm, comfortable, and there is so much attention to detail. I love love love the extra sleeves with the thumb holes! The hood is awesome and actually stays up and keeps me shielded from the wind. I love the double zipper for riding in the car. I really just love everything about this coat. I’ve taken long walks with the dog in 35 degrees in a cold drizzle and been warm and dry. Actually I come home hot! Maybe not the most stylish coat ever but it still looks well tailored and nice. For how warm it is I also find it pretty light and not too bulky. Absolutely love it altogether and couldn’t be happier with my purchase.

This jacket is better than expected

This jacket is SO warm. I have a bigger booty and always have trouble finding a cost that will zip and still be roomy. This coat is so flattering and warm! The only thing I didn’t care for was the fur on the hood looks cheap and is kinda weird. I just took it off and I still love the coats looks without it. I do a lot of work outside and needed a jacket that’s warm enough for ohio winters yet still professional. For delivered today just as our first snow storm hit. Spent all day outside in it and I was actually sweating at one point. This coat is amazing

Alaskan Winter

So let’s start off by saying was skeptical of buying this. But I did it, and WOOOOOO baby am I glad I did. Alaska winters are no joke, we are talking endless snow and -40F. This jacket kept me warm! I ordered a size up, put a hoodie or sweater under, because we all know layers are the key especially in Alaska….and I was warm. I did out door activities, I went on walks, I let me dogs out, etc etc, and it did not let me down. Even on the coldest of nights, I was perfectly fine. I stood outside for over an hour staring at the Aurora Borealis with this jacket on and i didn’t feel cold at all. I have not washed it yet so I don’t know how that will go, but I expect it to be fine. 100% recommend this jacket, this not the sexiest but let’s be real, who cares when it’s -40F or -30F!!!!!!

Will forever by Columbia with omni heat!!

I live in Colorado and have always struggled with warmth in the winter. I could never find a jacket warm enough!! With last year's snowmageddon storm, I decided that this year I would splurge a little to find them the best and warmest jackets. I needed waterproof and incredibly warm jackets. I spent hours researching and this jacket came up on my list. I received the jacket and wanted to wait until the first snow to write a review. Upon first glance, I was impressed with the quality of the jacket but skeptical over the lightweight nature of the item. How could a winter coat on the lighter end keep me warm? The style of the jacket is quite fashionable and will undoubtedly go with all occasions. Today we had our first winter storm. Working graveyard at a hospital, I left work to go home early in the am in 17 degree weather with crazy winds. I no longer have concerns if this lighter jacket will keep me warm. I became chilly, but never became cold. The longer I wore the jacket, the warmer it became. The pockets are warm enough and kept my hands warm without gloves. The hood keeps in heat to make the jacket comprehensive in it's warming effects and is ADORABLE! I love the reflective omni-heat feature and the omni tech aspect. Though this the most I have ever spent on a jacket, I will never buy anything else than Columbia with the omni-heat and omni-tech features. It was money well spent! I know hold Columbia to the highest regard! This jacket is true to size

Nice and warm in MN

I live in MN and it’s below zero this week. While I’m not outside for long, I’m very happy with this jacket. I wish it had some bigger pockets as I can’t really shove my hat and heavy duty mittens in like I could my old jacket. But this has a more feminine look to it. Mainly I just wanted a warm jacket, slightly longer style, and not super expensive. This fit the bill. I do love the sleeves!! While I don’t use the finger hole to pull it up, the tight fit at my hands keep the wind out and are cozy warm! This does fit a little tighter zippering up than I’m used to and the sleeves are kinda tight. I'm 135lbs and got the medium, but I don’t regret ordering this size. update: I ended up buying this jacket again after having it for 3 years when the zipper broke. While I was disappointed in the zipper and could have paid for a replacement, at 145lbs after having my 2nd child I wanted the large. The medium was still fully functional but a large will make it easier to wear a thicker sweatshirt underneath. I still love how warm this jacket is in below zero weather and wind. The hood is obnoxious and I removed it shortly after buying.

Loveeee it

This is the perfect jacket for when the weather starts dipping below 0, the metallic inside makes it so you don’t overheat (seems to be able to regulate body temp) and I finally got to test it in -20 Canadian weather and it passed the test as well!! Fits great and the hood looks great on as well (I’ve had many winter jackets with crazy looking hoods). I also prefer a longer jacket for winter, which this jacket checks off. Strongly recommend!!

Sizing is too large...

I loved the colour, the orange. I really liked the coat. The fur was tacky. The parka however was too large. It said on the site "runs small", by whose standards that was written escapes me. I am a medium and sometimes a large, so I ordered a large. I could have weighed thirty pounds more and it still would have easily fit me. I am 5'7" and weigh 145lbs and the large was humongous on me. It ticked me off that it cost $11.53 to return the coat. Tell me again why do I pay for Prime??? I wanted to order the medium, but it was gone! C'est la vie!

You wont be disappointed!

I love this jacket! I've never had one so warm. This was the first jacket I have ever splurged on and it was worth it. I do find Columbia fits small and honestly every style fits differently. Some Columbia Size XL were more like a cross between a medium/large and I had retail workers tell me they had many women with the same issues with the sizing this year. This style I would say is one of the closer to accurate sizing to an XL of Columbia's but still on the smaller side of an XL if that helps. On me this style was a bit bigger up top but I needed the space for my hips. It covers my butt perfectly tho, stops the wind. The hood is adjustable so it's not massive in size. I love the hand warmers and all the little extras it has. The colour was the last cherry on top for me. Not a regular olive green colour. Kind of a brown tone. So nice. Neutral without being a boring old back coat. Hope this helps :)

Warm, nice shape

Im 5'3, 130-135lbs, 34B bra size and pear shaped. I bought this in black metallic in medium. Its a tad big in the upper half for me, (ample room for a sweater), the bottom half fits great. The sleeves are suuper long on me also. The "metallic" black isnt really metallic in my opinion, its a matte fabric thats rough, with a tiny bit of a sheen but not much. Its also very noisy and for this reason it may be going back (I have seen and felt the shiny malbec one in store and it is a completely different fabric, smooth. But way too shiny for my taste. Ive also read tons of reviews that says the shiny ones are dirt and lint magnets. So, noisy or linty.. the choice is yours) This does have a flattering shape though. The hood fur doesnt extend all the way around.. its too short, but it can be removed (or replaced) All in all a solid jacket that could use a few tweeks: shorter sleeves, longer hood fur and the most important - better fabric.

Totally Worth The Money!

I haven't had a good winter coat in years and I opted to get this one because I like a longer coat and I haven't been disappointed !!! We've had some really cold days here in Toronto and I have yet to feel them when I'm outside for my walks other than on my face. Totally worth the money and the size chart worked well for me but rather than using the size part I actually used the measurements to order my size and it fits beautifully. Totally satisfied with this product.
