Columbia has very wisely designed a pared down version of the fishing shirt for those days when a guy wants the coolness and comfort of a fishing shirt but doesn't need all the little bells and whistles that tend to clutter up the look of a fishing shirt, for example all the little tabs and cords and special pockets that come in so handy when you are actually fishing, but kind of junk up the look of the shirt when you're wearing it for any sort of non-fishing activity, like running errands, hanging out with friends or grabbing a bite to eat. This shirt has a much cleaner, dressier, more modern look without all the pockets and accessories that are on a typical fishing shirt. The front of this shirt even has color-matched snaps instead of buttons, which add to the streamlined, minimalist look. There are two plain breast pockets that also are low profile, with no contrast stitching, no loops, no cords, no flaps, no pockets on top of pockets. The look is pared down, clean and much more modern than a typical fishing, hiking or camping shirt. Save those shirts with all the doodads and accessories for when you are actually fishing or camping, and wear this one on the weekends when you want to look a little more modern and dressed up yet still be casual and comfortable. There is a drawstring around the very bottom of the shirt, but it is basically hidden unless it is snugged up. My husband chose the "icy morn" color option and it is a pale icy blue with just a hint of green in the mix to give it a slight aqua tint, but the overall color is definitely blue as opposed to green. The fabric is slightly thicker and crisper than my husband's Magellan fishing shirts, which are made of very thin, floppy material. The shirt's fabric is still thin, breathable and cool in the heat, though, and the shirt's back vent helps with air circulation. My husband is 6' 1", about 185 pounds, and the XL fits him well. I have washed this shirt several times and have found it doesn't need ironing if I pull it out of the dryer and put it on a hanger either while it is still just a bit damp, or while it is still nice and warm. Overall this is a terrific shirt to wear all weekend long, no matter what you're doing. It is great for hot weather, dries quickly when wet, and is comfortable and causal. It may not have all the handy doodads you want if you actually go fishing, but for everyday casual wear it looks nicer and more modern than a typical fishing shirt. Columbia is a trusted brand in outdoor clothing, which is the icing on the cake.
