Much better than my last attempt at this
We have a second home and when getting set up there ended up buying this inflator at Ace and was impressed. At our normal home had made the mistake of buying a "EPAuto Commercial Grade Dual Head Tire Inflator Gauge with Air Hose" which turned out to be terribly inaccurate as evidenced by the car issuing multiple complaints about low tire pressure when supposedly properly inflated. Finally replaced it with one of these and now all the tires, a simple slide gauge and this gauge all matched within 1lb. One comment to be aware of is that it has a nipple for the air hose couple which mean the male pipe thread barbs that I had laying around would not work, had to round up some female ones.

Tire inflator
Well made however air pressure gauge was off by over 5 lbs. Had to take apart gauge and spent lots of time to recalibrate analog gauge with YouTube research.

Pretty dang good
Overall this is a huge upgrade over your standard tire inflating accessories. I always end up applying uneven pressure on my valve stems with those and having to make multiple attempts before getting a good seal and inflating. Then you have to take it off and check pressure and possibly repeat. This inflator gun is great for simplifying tire refills of all sorts! I like how there is a release for the vale stem to lock this on and then you have the handle/trigger to control the fill up with a accurate functioning gauge. The reason I didn't give it 5/5 was 2 reasons. The little rubber tire wrap around the gauge is unnecessary for design and just feels cheap and mine shakes around a bit and isn't snug. Nitpicking on my part but if you're going to add something like that on, I guess make it nice. But the real thing that annoyed me and perhaps it wasn't this guns fault - when I attached my 1/4in nipple to this so I can use a quick release coupler on my air hose, it was so dang leaky. I had to try and use all this thread seal tape on the threading of the gun to get a complete seal The first 2 attempts I had thread seal on and it was leaking like crazy even when I tightened it realy snug with a wrench. I guess 3rd time is a charm because I only loosened it from the attachment only about 1/3 the way and put more seal tape down just on those last bits of threading, I was able to tighten it up and get a good seal finally. Maybe I had a crummy 1/4 nipple adapter but I have used others from the kid I bought on other accessories without so much hassle. Either way, I got that squared away and am now a happier camper with this upgrade over my last inflator.

Well-made of durable metal, 300 PSI hose. Consider also ordering a quick-connect coupler.
This review is for the CRAFTSMAN CMXZTSG1031NB Inflator Gun, Red and Yellow. This is a handy inflator gun to have around the house if you have an air pressure tank, especially if you have a need to frequently check and inflate car/trailer/motorcycle/bicycle tires. It is very simple to use, and makes checking and correcting air pressure in tires a breeze. This is especially helpful in areas where the weather temperatures fluctuates frequently, which has an impact on internal tire air pressure. It is made of durable metal, with the exception of the gauge and the 12” 300 PSI hose. The gauge itself is surrounded by flexible rubber to protect it. To use it you just simply push the clasp over the valve stem, check the gauge for the appropriate air pressure, pull the lever to add air, or push the air release button to lower the pressure. Very simple. The inflator has a ¼” male NPS threaded end for connecting to the air pressure tank hose. Personally I prefer quick couplers for connecting air pressure tools, so I also ordered a separate ¼” coupler that is female threaded on one end and has a female push-button release coupler on the other, which makes quick work of connecting/disconnecting this inflator. The specific companion coupler I ordered was the Craftsman item CMXZTSG1086NB, which is a universal coupler that will work for other similar tools as well. The only thing I didn’t prefer about this inflator is that the gauge measures up to a high of 150 PSI, and most of the things I would need to check the majority of the time are going to be under 60 PSI. For me, it would have been better if the gauge used bigger numbers and the marks were spaced out more around the gauge face. As it is, I will probably only use the first third of the gauge for any pressure readings. This isn’t a flaw of the device, and I’m sure others will need the higher air pressure readings. It is merely a personal preference, and doesn’t take away from the usefulness or quality of the inflator.

Handy, inaccurate.
Works fine but the guage is roughly 8# off (reads 37# when pressure is 29... Verified by several other gauges). I'd return it if I could but it's been too long. Gonna try to install a better guage.

Decent analog inflator and pressure checker
Not the highest quality inflator I've ever used but for a low cost tool with an analog gauge that never requires batteries, it's not bad. Large PSI gauge and a colorful metal base with yellow hose looks a little like a hot dog stand but it is also very noticeable and easy to find if you leave it lying around. Air fitting is not included, but I put one one and no leaks so I'm happy with this unit. The valve end locks on and isn't very high quality but it's fine for passenger vehicles and light duty trucks. Max PSI is apparently 150 PSI but my vehicles all use under 60 psi in their tires and this inflator can handle that with no issues. My only concern for this inflator would be wearing out if you use it daily, but for occasional residential use, I'm sure it will last many years for checking tire pressure and inflating. I'd rate this just slightly above average. 3.5-4 stars. It's not a very expensive item so it's hard to be too picky with the build quality. It doesn't leak and the gauge seems to be accurate so those are the main things I care about.
