Shrinks a bit

I decided to pair these placemats with the DII Autumn Spice Plaid tablecloth. They have a lovely autumnal look that I am eager to use them in the cooler days ahead. The set comes with 6 placemats. So, I washed 4 to see how they would hold up before we use them on the table for a meal. The directions say to dry clean or hand wash. No way will I be sending daily usage placemats to the dry cleaners! So I hand washed the 4 to see how they would fair. Fortunately, there was no nasty inner-lining, wrinkly, shrinkage like some placemats have. Even in a cold water wash, they bled dark brown dye. So be prepared to wash them alone. I did give them a few minutes in the washing machine spin cycle as they were doing OK with the washing by hand method. I think next time they should be OK in the regular cold water wash and I line dried them. They did shrink about 1/2 inch in both directions so keep that in mind which checking for size. They are beautiful and elegant looking but will be nice for casual dining too. I'm happy with this purchase.

Beautiful Design At A Reasonable Price

This is really an unusual and beautiful placemat. The leaf pattern is very different and compliments most tables. While this would be perfect for fall or thanksgiving it really will work well for any themed dinner. The mats are made of polyester so you don't have to worry about wrinkling or shrinking. They are hand washable but I have not had the need to wash them as of yet. Overall considering the design, quality and price these are an excellent buy.
