Very handy tool!

This can be used in many instances. It serves as a table lamp, a desktop light, working on your car after sundown, during power outages, and even outdoor camping. It's lightweight and easy to carry/set up.

OK, but limited usefulness

We had to deal with a power outage recently, so the opportunity to get a lantern with an embedded small flashlight seemed like a good thing. And it is a good thing to have this little lantern/flashlight, it's just not really what I think most people would even call a lantern. It's just too small, as the dimensions shown on the product listing page clearly show, so it's no surprise. But setting up the light and using it really brings home the fact that it's not really a legitimate lantern. The design is clever, with the small flashlight providing the light that's dispersed around the larger light when it's in place in the middle of the light. Then you can extract the flashlight and use it in the normal way. So it's really not much of a lantern and it's nothing special as a flashlight, but it does do some work in each area and it's pretty inexpensive, so I'm not going to crush it with a low rating. It's OK as far as it goes, just don't expect too much. If you needed a lantern before you got this, you'll probably still feel like you need one after you get it. It's just limited in usefulness due to its size and output. Clever design though.

Smaller Than I Expected

When this "lantern" arrived, I was surprised by how small it is. This review is for: Enbrighten 2 in 1 LED Combo Lantern, Flashlight, Task Light, Battery Operated, 200 Lumens, High/Low/Off, Table Lamp, Desk, Camping, Emergency, Storm, 49471, Black. I guess I thought it would be bigger, because it looks big in the product images. Anyway, with all the more recent storms and high winds, you can never have enough flashlights on hand. It seems that we have more power outages than ever before and that is why I requested this lantern. It's a pretty cool design, housing the flashlight inside the lantern. It is easily removed to install the batteries or to use on its own, without the lantern shade. Even though it's small, the light is really bright and should get you through the darkest of nights. It's not going to light an entire house or anything, but just imagine a small bright flashlight and this is like that. For nine bucks, you might pay more for the batteries than this lantern!

nice lantern for the price, 4 stars

I collect flashlights so naturally, this interested me. For the price, you can't go wrong. This is actually a budget flashlight with a lantern type diffuser. The flashlight runs on 3 AAA batteries that fit into a battery chassis. Being a flashlight collector, I wanted to see if I could operate this on a 18650 Li-Ion battery. I thought the 18650 might burn this light up... so with a bit of worry, I loaded one in it and powered it on. It worked, to my pleasant surprise. This means that I can run it probably for a very long time before having to recharge my battery. I feel that this is a good light for the money. Look at the price, how can you go wrong? It is not like my $100 lantern but for 1/10 the price, I am happy with it. Will this replace any light I have? No. I have a feeling that one of the grandkids will probably borrow this from Papa. LOL

Nice easy to use and small

This takes AAA (3) batteries to use. It is a lantern case but its actually a flashlight that you can plug into a lantern and it lights up. SO that's the 2 N 1 twist. Its really cool and fun for small kids. Like Magic Oooo (they are 7 , 2 , & 1 so let me have my fun). The unit is plastic so it probably won't last a life time but the price point is under $10 (at the time of this review) for that alone even a year's worth of use is great and more is just a bonus. You actually do get pretty nice light and for sleep overs/ back yard camping/ just a night light this is handy.
