Great hitch, but box missing key parts

Update after 3+ years of use: This has been a great hitch. On a long trip the side blew out of one of the sockets that holds the weight distribution bars. The manufacturer shipped a replacement to one of our scheduled stops and I was able to replace it in the field with not problems. Great customer support. The noise is completely removed by using Equal-i-zer High Performance Lubricant. I was skeptical when Equal-i-zer suggested I try their product, figuring they were just pushing their own product, but the stuff is like magic! No noise, easy to apply with little mess using the tube, and only a dime's worth should be used. I tried 4 different greases and lubricants, and nothing came close to their High Performance Lubricant. Original review: I've already noticed a big towing improvement from the weight distribution, and so far there hasn't been much sway--not sure if that's because the hitch is doing its job, or I just haven't put in enough miles yet to experience it. But I was very disappointed that the hitch was shipped separately from the spring arms, which didn't arrive until the following day. And even though the product pages says "ships from and sold by Amazon.com," it's not. It was drop shipped from some other company, which may explain two separate shipments and the condition of the hitch. Removing the hitch from its box, this appeared to be a previous return. Things were shoved in the box out of place. The box itself had a large hole in the side that was taped up. Many of the brackets were scratched, and a bag of nuts, bolts, and spacer washers was missing. Luckily, I was able to re-use pieces from my old hitch to make things work, but I'm disappointed that I paid for those missing parts and now my new Equil-i-zer hitch is using key parts that have been recycled. Not too happy about that. Installing the hitch went smoothly. I haven't been able to torque the brackets on the trailer to the 65 pounds required because the back brackets are bending. I haven't even hit 50 pounds. And this hitch is loud. I can take the noise as long as it does its job, but it's definitely vocal.

Solid and strong

I bought this to replace the 6000LB version that I used for a smaller trailer. It's everything I expected Equalizer. Build quality is solid, and heavy. It was easy to setup and install. I watched a couple videos, and had it done in an hour or so. One thing to note - check the torque specs. There are a couple items that say to torque to 400-450 ft lbs. There's probably not many 'normal' folks that have a torque wrench that goes that high. I brought it to a trailer shop, and talked to them about it. They say they never torque anything that high, and themselves didn't even have a torque wrench that went to 450 ft lbs. I torqued mine to 250 and called it good.

Excellent Customer Service

We drove 10 hours from home to Branson, MO. on a family Christmas trip. When we arrived, we noticed that our Equal-i-zer hitch was broken. Since we were 10 hours away from home, we were not sure what we were going to do. Thanks to Equal-i-zer's excellent customer service, we were able to drive to a local reseller of theirs and they were able to help me with my warranty of the hitch. This is my second hitch from Equal-i-zer on my second trailer. And I plan to continue to use their product on future campers.

Incomplete Delivery

Ordered the 1400/14000 Equalizer hitch (without the shank) and only received the weight distribution bars. Never received the hitch head or associated hardware. Sent the bars back and once I receive credit, I may try again to see if I get a complete package delivered.

Excellent hitch!

I had wanted to get this hit for a couple of years and finally purchased it when I bought my new camper. I was worried that it might be a pain to setup. After reading through the instructions, watching some YouTube videos and re-reading through the instructions, it was actually fairly easy to setup. I immediately noticed a difference pulling my camper vs. the old round bar weight distribution hitch. I don't notice any sway when towing now. Even with sway control bars on the old setup, I would occasionally get some sway, and anyone who's towed much would agree how bad that feels. With this hitch setup, the sway control is built it. I have 0 regrets with this hitch and I can hookup faster than I did with the old setup.

A must for SWB towing

Take the time to set it up properly and it will benefit your handling, tremendously. We had a Reece Towpower WD hitch and two friction sway controllers attached to that and still had sway issues with our short wheel base tow vehicle. This hitch eliminated 95% of that issue! I was unsure about this hitch and we almost sold our camper because of our sway problems. So glad I could remedy the problem for less than $700. Thank you Equal-i-zer!!!

Equal-izer est un excellent attelage j’en possède déjà deux depuis plusieurs année

J’ai reçu l’attelage sans la boule, Bien pratique un attelage sans boule, J’ai commandé et payé une boule 2 5 16. Après avoir vider la boite je n’ai pas la pièce principale qui va après le high-tech du camion voir l’image sur la photo. Je suis en attente du vendeur pour régler la situation.
