Good little dehydrator

This appears to be a great machine for beginners (which I am). So far I've used it twice and the outcome was good. I'd say great, but it did take a little minute to figure out the trays.

Does the job!

I love this dehydrator! It’s not too big, but holds a lot. It does a great job! I make homemade beef jerky for my dogs and I love making dried fruits. It’s much quieter than my old one. No complaints, it gets the job done!

It has a temp control knob.

I just received my new NutriChef dehydrator and it arrived undamaged and fast, While searching the dehydrator on line there was confusion about whether it had a temp control . The one I received has a temp control. Not sure why some pictures show it with one and others show it without one. It was somewhat smaller than I expected but still large enough to do what I need it to do. I will update my review once I have used it a few times to see how it works.

Beef jerky cravings

Yes it is very simple & easy to clean even after making a beef jerky round up. But I used to have one that got it done much faster. This dehydrator seems to not get as hot as my last one taken it’s time or my time. So I will wait just a little bit longer to get something good & tasty. Come & get it

perfect size for my apartment, happy with results

There is nothing I dislike, I like that I can choose the temperature I want to use. I dry apples, kale, cranberries, and bananas, and will try more items in day to come. I'm having fun with my dryer. And easy to clean.

Quick and Simple to use

We use this product to make beef jerky and dried fruits. It is so easy to set up, and when finished simply put the trays in the dishwasher. It saves us so much time and we think you will love it too!

Very good deal

Works exactly as it should. Easy to use, clean and operate. Food comes out with great results and it's not really that loud either (similar to a running microwave).

Works as advertised - easy to use and clean

I purchased this to take the next step in preserving food. The unit is very easy to use and works as indicated. We did rotate the trays as recommended with the instructions and haven't had any issues with uneven drying as long as we strive to keep the thicknesses even. The trays are easy to clean and I've only needed to wipe the base with a damp paper towel when some herbs fell through. As with any kitchen appliance, storage is always the bother. It's nice that the height is low when the trays are collapsed, but the girth of the unit is wide so it takes up quite a bit of room on the shelf. Our food drying experiences: My first uses were to dry extra pears and apples we had left over from canning. They turned out great - so great, that they didn't last long...so much for preserving. We did another batch of pears and apples as well as okra to take on a mountain hiking vacation. This was perfect because they were very light-weight to carry and filled with energy and nutrition to fuel the hiking. We've tried other things since. The pear and apple rings have come out perfect every time. We attempted banana chips following the instructions to get them hard (not pliable) but found them too hard, so I think we'll try them again to see if we can improve the texture. While the okra tasted great, it too was probably dried too long (following the instructions). I also dried the herbs that were remaining in our herb garden before the first frost hit (parsley, basil, and mint). All of the herbs came out perfect and smell so good - my goal is to never buy dried herbs from the grocery again if I can grow it myself. With the exception the dried herbs, everything we've dried has been eaten within two weeks. While this confirms how great they taste, it hasn't given us an opportunity to verify that the dried food can sit on the shelf for up to 6 months without going bad. Perhaps now that we have a lot of winter tubers and squash, we'll try to make some veggie chips so it doesn't sit on the shelf until next summer.

Easy too use

This little dehydrator works great ! Easy to use , easy to clean and it's also fairly compact so it won't take up much space on your counter. ( about the size of a bread box )

Does exactly what you hope for. Dehydrated peppers, leeks, tomatoes and more.

Basic setup is great, you just have to make sure you line up the tabs if you want some space between trays. If you take care of it, no issues with anything breaking. Does a stunning job on kale chips, I should mention. This winter I'll try beef jerky. Leek powder (for soup) was a really nice one to try. I think the hotter settings are best, I tried a low setting a few times and it just took too long. Nothing burns or has any issue on higher setting. Absolutely the best storage for tomatoes, (dried) volume really reduced and totally sweet.

Huge time saver

This dryer saved me so much time I wish I had bought it a long time ago. Here in Canada, I used to wait for my herbal medicine to air dry in the Winter and it would take forever, sometime a few weeks to be dry to the touch. Now it took me two days and it would be completely dry and ready for use. The fan noise can be heard if you are near the machine but it is not that bad. So far, I have used it on and off for a total of about two months running time and the machine has worked solidly. Highly recommended.
