Full Face shield. Use nothing less with this or Any wire wheel on a grinder. They will ALL toss out a wire every once in a while. Keep the guard on the grinder. Leather work gloves are a winner also. Any wire wheel can toss a bristle that will sink well into your skin, or eye. This one is medium aggressive and will work better after it wears a bit. It will take off skin as fat as rust if not better. Work safley.

Wear safety equipment when using. In using the wheel to cleanup welds on a piece of 5/8" tubing there were quite a few wire bristles flying around. If used on flat surfaces, loose bristles might not be a large concern due to the fact that small pieces cause a more interrupted cleaning process and perhaps more strain on the bristles. Overall the wheel did the job when cleaning up the surface for painting. Will likely purchase more in the future.

Has work very well

I purchased a 27’ boat that was originally used in California. There was a LOT of corrosion on the trailer. I purchased this to remove the corrosion and then coat with a cold galvanizing compound. Only one of these did the trick. Word of caution. Wear goggles. Towards the tail end of the project, one of the wires broke off and embedded 1/4” into my cheek. I was wearing safety glasses at the time because goggles kept filling up with sweat given the heat. I put the goggles on and finished off the job.

Holds up well

Been abusing this wire wheel for hours on hours and it's still going strong. Works great and hasn't shown signs of giving up. Would buy again.

Takes no prisoners!

This wire wheel kicks butt. Used it to remove surface rust from a trailer. Much quicker and not as messy as sandblasting. Yes, there are areas you won't get into. Yes, a few strands fly off. Eye protection MANDATORY, not just for the wires that fly off, but whatever you're working on, it will shoot rust, paint and scale off at hypersonic speed. And hang on to your grinder, when this hits an edge, it grabs and you're going for a ride.

Worked exactly like I hoped it would and better. It made easy work of the old paint on the vise that I’m restoring and still looks new. I ordered 2 not realizing how long they would last but I’m glad I did because it’s a great product. I’m now looking forward to other projects where I’ll need this knowing I’m much time and effort this will save me.

Great Product!

Used extensively on rusty wrought iron and it worked better than expected. If want to get rid of paint, rust and other debris, buy this now. Even at 11,000 RPM, the bristles stayed intact and did the job. It was easy to get right down to bare metal. NOTE: absolutely wear eye protection and gloves. An ounce of prevention blah, blah, blah!!

When they arrived the build quality looked to be excellent but unfortunately although the arbors are marked as 5/8 ...

I ordered both the Forney 72759 Wire Wheel Brush and 72757 Wire Cup Brush for my Bosch angle grinder. When they arrived the build quality looked to be excellent but unfortunately although the arbors are marked as 5/8 -11inch thread they are oversize to the point that I could actually wiggle them onto and off of the grinder spindle. So I am returning them for refund. Too bad!
