I had a knot in my right shoulder that I was able to use this roller to work out. What a relief.

Just what the doctor ordered

I was given a picture of this by my orthopedic doc, got on Amazon and found it and ordered it. Voila, I had it in my hands 2 days later, easily massaging my leg where necessary. The roller is easy to hold, self-pressure can be whatever you like and I thought the price was very reasonable.

Sturdy, Well Built, and nice Rollers that grip and massage

This is an awesome roller that I bought for my personal use to roll out the knots in my calves from running; the cost was $13.53. My wife, a seasoned physical therapist, has a name brand (The Stick with a smooth rolling surface) muscle roller for $27 but I like this one much better. The roller core is a sturdy steel and the rollers have grooves that seem to 'massage' the skin gently as you roll out the muscle knots and adhesions from running or walking. The only slight negative I can think of is that it makes a periodic squeaky noise when rolling; however, this is a non-issue for me. I also bought the massage roller by Seek Gains. It was $25 but and seems to be built very strong also with a steel core but I don't care for the smooth rollers as much. I just ordered another Gaiam roller for out PT clinic since it is a must have.

Honestly...

Bottom Line: Another massage stick product called "The Stick" is much better and I wish I made the choice to spend the extra ten bucks in the first place because now I spent $20.00 on garbage and still have to buy the good one. I looked into returning the item but it's going to cost almost as much to ship it back to Amazon as it cost for the item. I wanted a roller stick because I LOVE the way my friends "The Stick" massage roller feels. I wanted to save a couple bucks, plus this one had a nice look, so I figured I would get it... I honestly wish I just went with the one I knew I loved rather than this. The differences I notice are as follows: this one costs about $20 "The Stick" costs about $25-$40 (depending on size) -if you ask me after using them both... I'd pay double for "The Stick" this one is un-flexible with hard plastic rollers. "The Stick" is a flexible stick with more comfortable soft rollers. -This one is likely to pop a few blood vessels in stead helping you recover. You get a better massage with "The Stick". here's why, You can press harder and get a deep tissue massage with "The Stick" but this one hurts too much to press as hard as you need to for a massage... it's like you either hurt too much or not enough... if you know what I mean. This one gives me bruses while "The Stick" massages. -I am serious, it's painful. don't make the mistake I did! this one sucks in a bad way. "The Stick" is Amazing -literally it is night and day I feel this works about 60% as well as "The Stick" I feel this is about 20% as comfortable as "The Stick"

I was able to walk after a crazy WOD!

I bought this because a friend had one and after a WOD of way too many burpees and wallballs, my quads were tightening up pretty fast. This thing helped so much that I never got to the "Holly heck, I can't walk!!!" part of the recovery. I was still sore, but was able to function. Her's was a pretty teal and gray, so I settled on ordering the orange and grey as I couldn't find an exact match. I was pleasantly surprised that I received the teal and grey, and it was the exact version she had. So if you are hoping for orange, you may not receive it. The function of the stick would be the same either way. It now goes everywhere with me.

Color shown was not color delivered that was pretty much the only down side with this product. They sent me this really ugly light blue or turquoise color instead of the one shown when my gym colors are the same as the one in the photo that is why I ordered it. It works great been using it before I train to loosen the muscles. I would buy it again just wouldn't keep my hopes up on the color I get.
