Doesn't work for my and my dog

I'm sure the harness works for most dogs, and does with my dog when no one else is around, however for my 87lb lab/rotti it didn't work great, esp if someone is walking towards us with another dog. She is very hard to control. I'm using the double clip lead and the front clasp pulls all the way towards her shoulder if I really have to try and restrain her. As much as I dislike a prong collar, that seems to be the only thing that works for me. So I will be returning it.

my dogs are huge and obnoxious

i absolutely love my 38-41 kg (think 88 pounds of muscle) german shepherds. and other than a few tricks they are thoroughly untrained (naturally well behaved in the house). on walks one wants to play with every dog we sight while the other wants to sit on every fight we sight. at first i was using these with short leashes connected to the strap that tightens on the back buuut that was stupid. you must attack the leash to the d-ring on the chest. it might take a week to adjust but you're dogs will allow you to pull them away from snarling critters. all 170 pounds at once! best tool i own.

Good for learning to walk and not pull

Our 1 year old is learning to walk and not pull us everywhere and this is helping us with that. She is learning quickly.

yes, it worked remarkably well. but. he’s chewed through it. as for functionality, it is a little confusing to maneuver but it does work. just didn’t last.

Great - unless you are a short person

We bought the whole system, leash + head collar + this harness. Everything is good quality and durable. The system worked great for my husband, and the harness does seem to check the pulling better than others we tried. However, I am short and found it uncomfortable to hold the leash high enough to keep this harness properly snug under my tall dog's armpits.

It works! It gently tightens around their torso when the dog attempts to pull ahead of you.

I tried 4 other harnesses and returned them all due to being uncomfortable for my dog under the front legs and some didn’t have a corrective action like this one. It’s padded where it needs to be. It tightens under their front torso and as soon as my dog begins to pull ahead of me and feels it tightening he stops and corrects himself. This product is wonderful. Also it’s thick straps and metal rings seem very well made and sturdy.

Stubborn Boy

It worked very well for training the black mouth cur but the 100lb pitbull/mastiff mix doesn't seem to mind the harness squeezing him ????. I think I have to give it another week or so to break him of his bad habit (launching at passing cars). He's a rescue so maybe he just needs the time committed to teaching him. I'd say buy it, it's sturdy and does the job pretty good. A big strong dog may not be as inclined to comply but you can definitely tell the difference when using this harness vs a typical leash. Murry Crimmus guys!

La mejor solución por ahora

Mucho mejor los paseos con este arnés. Adopté una perra muy difícil, no tuve valor a devolverla, es una pastora alemana, muy juguetona, tiene muchísima energía, damos largos paseos y jugamos mucho, pero cuando ve patines quiere perseguirlos y tira mucho, ahora hay miles de patinadores en mi ciudad y yo soy muy mayor. Por lo menos, gracias a este arnés hemos conseguido hacer los paseos mucho más tranquilos, tampoco al 100 por 100 pero ahora si que disfrutamos. Casi la felicidad completa. JAJAJAJAJA¡¡¡

no cumple su función

El arnés es de una calidad muy buena, el problema es que el perro no deja de tirar con él, ya que la correa va enganchada al pecho, pero también tiene que ir enganchada a la espalda, de modo que la fuerza se reparte y tienes que ir haciendo malabares para estirar solo del pecho. Supongo que para perros que tiran poco estará genial, pero en mi caso, que tira mucho, a penas me ha ayudado. He tenido que comprar el otro modelo de halti que sólo tiene enganche en el pecho, y es mucho más efectivo. Otro "pero" es que cuando sueltas al perro, la parte de arriba tienes que apañarla para que no vaya haciendo de látigo, así que no se trata de soltarla sin más, tienes que usar un tiempo para colocar todo y que pueda correr sin que le moleste. En cuanto a calidad, insuperable, muy buena calidad y cintas protegidas con almohadillas blandas que evitan cualquier rozadura.

Puede ser peligroso para los perros y se rompe fácilmente

El producto es relativamente fácil de usar, pero tiene dos problemas: 1.- Cuando el perro da un tirón, el arnés se "estrangula" a la misma velocidad del tirón, haciendo presión sobre las vértebras detrás de las patas delanteras. Pienso que puede acabar haciéndole lesiones de espalda al perro, ya que los tirones siempre se traducen en presión en las mismas vértebras y en dirección perpendicular a la columna. Yo me di cuenta porque le empezó a salir una calva en la zona de presión. 2.- La zona del arnés se desgasta rápidamente del roce del material textil con las anillas de hierro que hacen el efecto "estrangulamiento" en la espalda. NO recomiendo su compra si tenéis un perro joven o impetuoso que dé tirones

This Halti product was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING!!! The very first time I sized the Halti Harness to my long haired German Shepherd and took him out for a walk the 1st time he tugged not a pull more like a tug the lower chest ring was swinging in the breeze and my dog was loose!!!!! Thank God I wasn’t walking on a busy street. Thank God he hadn’t seen another dog!!!! VERY POOR QUALITY AND DEFINITELY NOT SUITABLE FOR A MEDIUM SIZED DOG. DEFINITELY NOT A DOG CONTROL HARNESS FOR PULLING!!! Highly disappointed

Correcto pero como complemento a la educación del perro.

El arnés en sí está bien. Tiene dos puntos de anclaje lo que hace que la fuerza que ejerce el perro al tirar, se contrarresta repartiendo esa fuerza en esos dos puntos pecho y espalda, teniendo un paseo más cómodo que con solo llevar el collar de siempre, que en perros que tiran mucho se hace un paseo insufrible y estresante. Ahora bien, con este arnés se puede solucionar al 100 % si el perro no es de tirar excesivamente. Si por el contrario, el perro tiene tendencia a tirar mucho en determinados momentos, o incluso siempre, se hace necesario complementar este arnés con la educación del perro y esa tarea requiere tiempo y paciencia, hasta conseguirlo. Así pues es el arnés es un elemento válido y recomendable.
