Keurig Fills 16oz Travel Mug!! Carafe doesn’t stay warm

The main reason I bought this unit many years ago was because you can pour in and brew 16oz of Keurig coffee into your travel mug (most are only 10 or 12oz). Value for the Money: I’m had the original flex-brew with the glass pot for maybe 6 years (and gifted to many other people) - all still working and you cannot beat the price. One Negative: If you brew the coffee and then use the Keurig, the warmer for the pot turns off. I get up in the morning and brew coffee, then my husband makes his coffee in with the Keurig, and I end up reheating the brewed coffee in the microwave. Stainless Steel Carafe & Glass: We moved and purchased this flex-brew and I was excited the brewed coffee would stay hotter in S/S than the glass. It’s a better, but not doesn’t maintain the heat I was hoping for. You cannot control the warmer being on/off. Overall, this is a great unit. We even bought the Hamilton Beach Keurig single unit (which is just the Keurig half of this unit).

Best of both coffee worlds

Love this machine. Easy to operate, and makes a great cup or pot of coffee. We always felt bad about using pods all the time; not good for the environment. All that plastic waste. This machine allows you to use loose ground coffee to make one cup at a time. Keep that plastic out of the landfill. Help the Earth!

Coffee Again

We had a similar coffee maker. It was a Hamilton Beach Flex Brew with a glass carafe. The display became too dim read and would no longer heat and pump the water. 5 years old. We purchase another but with an insulated steel carafe. It doesn’t have a heating plate for the carafe and the carafe only keeps the coffee hot for about 45minutes to an hour. Really disappointing it didn’t have a heat plate. The heat plate on our old one kept the coffee hot for two hours before it shut off. It didn’t mention in the add that it did not have a heat plate. I just assumed it did as it looked exactly like our old one. If I were to buy a other coffee maker, I’d shop around first. This one would not be our first choice.

It’s great to have both features for single, carafe, and travel mugs. I would like it to keep the coffee hotter. But I do love the features.

Hamilton beach thermal coffee maker

Easy to use. Does not take up too much room on counter. Conveniently brews pods or filtered individual cup as well as a full pot. Just make sure coffee is not too finely ground as it will clog the filters.

Refillable K-Cup filter!

I purchased this as there are four of us around the house most weekdays and 6 total coffee drinkers in the house (some wanting decaf, and some regular) and I wanted everyone to be able to make a single cup of coffee without buying K-cups. The machine works great and the coffee is hot enough. Only downside of the refillable “single cup” filter is that the used coffee grounds won’t come out when the filter is tapped over the trash can/compost bin so you need to clean them out with a spoon and dispose and then rinse the unit out with water over a garbage disposal, etc. so grounds don’t go down drain and cause clogging. Be aware that the cord for the unit is quite short (a foot or less) when you are planning where to put the machine. The water has to be loaded near the back for each “Kuerig” style cup and for each pot of coffee as well so you will need to pull it out a bit to add the water if there is an overhanging cabinet. I just love the thermal carafe which keeps coffee hot for a long time. If you are interested in a permanent metal filter for the carafe side of the unit then I would suggest buying the Mr. Coffee universal basket filter even though it runs close to $15. I bought a generic basket filter at a big box store and it was too short by an inch for making a full carafe and caused an overflow of grounds into the coffee when I first tried it out for company????. Cheers to the manufacturer for executing the major concerns of this coffee drinker????.

Dual coffee pot

Like that I can do a pot of coffee or just a k-cup . Only downfall is canister doesn't keep coffee warm long . I'm still happy with my purchase though.

The Best Part of My Morning, Coffee!

Coffee is as essential to some of us as a morning shower. When you add the fact of three grown men trying to get a cup of coffee simultaneously, that could spell disaster. I love the two-brew system, you can program the strength of the brew, set your timer, and it's ready for you in the morning. I love the feature of being able to pre-program two brews, one pot for my mates, and a 16-ounce Keuric for myself. Cleaning has been very easy, just follow the manufacturer's suggestions for cleaning and it stays nice and fresh. I would recommend this FlexBrew to anyone looking to purchase a new coffee machine or for a gift.

good value

It works well but it took us a bit to figure out the grind needed and the amount per cup. But with the right grinder it works perfectly. Good water, good coffee, the right grind and that's all you need. Stays hot and the timer works well too. Single cup option is nice.

This is exactly what I wanted it although not quite hot enough to my liking

The carafe doesn't seem to keep it hot for long and it doesn't make it quite hot enough. I keep meaning to check if there is a way to increase the temperature. Otherwise this is a great coffeemaker. Great to have choice of pot or individual cup. Ordered the reusable pods as well.

No need to use k cups, able to make a single cup using ground coffee (saves $$$)

I really like the Flexbrew concept, having the ability to make a single cup as well as a full pot is wonderful. No longer do we have to have a Keurig or Tassimo as well as a regular coffee pot taking up so much space on the kitchen counter. The single brew feature is a little slower than my old Tassimo but not a bother. It’s easy to program, easy to use and clean. The coffee tastes very good. I love the fact that you can use K cups or use ground coffee to make single cups, both types of single baskets are included. I wish it came with a large reusable basket though, a little disappointing that I had to go out and buy one before we could make out first pot of coffee. We found that the stainless steel carafe model did not keep coffee hot enough for any length of time so decided to return it and get the glass carafe model, now coffee stays nice and hot until it shuts itself off. Overall, we’re very pleased with the Flexbrew and recommend it as a good reliable, versatile machine.

Badly designed machine for those that like single serve coffee

I purchased this for my wife for Christmas. She works from home, and sometimes likes a full pot of coffee, yet sometimes she likes just a single cup if she’s out and about too. She currently has a Kurig single-cup machine, with re-usable k-cups, and a second coffee pot machine. In theory, this should be a good machine, and allowed my wife to someone two machines into one unit. First - the Coffee maker defects that could have just been this machine: Coffee comes out luke warm. Basket wouldn’t release all the brewed coffee from basket into karaffe. Machine also leaked water at times on karaffe side. These issues alone were deal breakers in this unit, however the design problems below probably would have caused it to go back.... Design issues: must use store purchased k-cup coffee, or the re-usable k-cup that comes with the machine. This can be a pain as she is used to having a Kurig that she can have multiple pods for, and use 2-3 before having to empty/wash them all. In this case, after market k-cups don’t work as there is a needle in the bottom and top of the single serve side to pierce top/bottom of a regular k-cup. Plastic after market versions not from Hamilton beach prevent the single side from closing. Lack of cup size options for single serve side. When you have a single serve machine, you become used to filling the reservoir with water, picking your cup size, and brewing a few cups without refilling the reservoir each time. In this case, you must poor water into the single side water reservoir every time because that is what determines cup size. Just kinda weird. Only one re-useable k-cup comes with the machine, and it seems a little tough to buy extras. Takes around 3 minutes to brew a single cup of coffee. Current Kurig starts brewing in just a few seconds.

Decepcionada

Estoy pensando en devolver la verdad el servicio individual lo amé, me encanta poder tener en una misma máquina ambas opciones y por esto aún no la devuelvo porque realmente es fácil de usar, deja el café caliente como me gusta y súper rápido pero la garrafa todo lo contrario, no se queda encendida, termina de hacer el café lo cual hace en un tiempo corto esto le gusta pero se apaga, así que si estás ocupada en la mañana vas y te sirves y el café está frío. Se supone tiene la opción de quitar el apagado automático pero no viene en el instructivo y yo al menos no e encontrado la forma por esta razón estoy a punto de devolver porque al final en reunióones necesito otra cafetera. La opción principal de adquirirla fue tener ambas cosas en una sola máquina y no está funcionando????
