I installed this product on a 04 Honda Element and it will need an extension to reach over the tail gate to a trailer. you will need to remove the right rear seat and unbolt the seat bracket. ( 3 bolts ) you also need to take the seat belt bolt out. take out the screws that hold the interior out and pop off the piece by the seat belt, rear strut plus a corner piece that would be behind the seat. I pried up the molding at the bottom of the door just enough to get the side piece clear. slowly and carefully work you way back from the side door to the rear, if things don't move you might have missed a screw. once the side piece is loose the plug is to the rear and lay the wire under the side piece into the spare tire well. Make sure the doors weatherstrip is on the outside of the plastic when you put it back together. Take your time and don't use too much force.

Hopkins trailer taillight converter 43105

These adapters convert the five wire taillights of your car to four wire taillights of the trailer. The circuit is actually kind of complicated, but it is sealed inside the housing so it cannot get wet. The only problems I had installing this on the CRV were not related to the harness itself. You have to remove the inner plastic panel on the driver's side to get to the taillight connector, then you have to enlarge the hole in the bottom of the inner fender so that the taillight converter connector can fit through. I used a Unibit drill bit to enlarge the hole, and found a rubber grommet to fit so that it would not wear through the wires. The converter housing can be attached under the car with supplied tie wraps. These days ROHS requires the elimination of lead in connector platings. The plating used on the bullet connectors soon develops a white oxidation that makes it hard to plug the connectors together. The tin/lead platings were much better because they supplied some built-in lubrication. One step forward for mankind, two steps back. SV

Perfect for non led set up

Works as it should. However if you are running leds this is not the module you want to use. The module back feeds a little which will cause a led to light up when it shouldn’t where as a regular bulb won’t.

Fits 2003-2004 honda element

fits perfectly into factory honda wiring harness. no cutting wires / splicing etc. hooked up the trailer and all the lights work flawlessly. i have read this does NOT fit the 2005+ honda element
