Broke after about 8 months of use, sanded great while it did work so i went back to my 3500 series haven't had a problem yet. Hutchins is definitely know for having good quality products cant say the same about their customers service in my opinion.

Hutchins is the best

So far it's been the best sander Ive had. Better than Dynabrade supreme, Snap On, Matco premium. Nice weight to it, not too heavy, not too light. Nice feel in my hand. Very well balanced. I dont run my sanders WFO like some folks do. Longevity is the other half of the quality review but hopefully Ill never have to update that. My dads 4500 is 30+ years old and is just starting to show signs of a rebuild needed. Ive had to rebuild a Dyndabrade 3 times within 10 years. And yes I oil mine and work in professional shops with expensive compressors and driers.

I bought 2 of these sanders. One is working perfectly. The other stopped working after 5 months. I paid to send it back to hutchins. They told me there was moisture in the machine, and that I have moisture in my air lines. I told them that I have 3 other sanders, 1 Hutchins, 1 Dewalt, and a Dynabrade and they are working just fine. I also have an air dryer. The line is relatively dry. They told me that my sanding area must be far from the dryer. It is 20 feet away. I also invited them to come to the shop and inspect my set up. They never did, and quoted me to repair it. The cost was just as much as buying a new machine, or 2 dewalts. I tried to work with them and asked them if they could give me a discount on the repair. After all I deal with customers all of the time in my wood shop I know and understand what they go through. They would not budge and would not give me a better price on the repair. It does sand great, and I like supporting American made products. But I don't think they stand by their product too well. The other one I bought is still working fine.

These are very good sanders. Keep the oil in them and they last a long time.

works with my compressor

I had a cheap sander that used nearly as much as air and my 3-1/2hp compressor could not keep up with the cheap one. Very well built.

Most of us in our shop use hutchins sanders and couldn't be happier. I've used ir sanders, astro pneumatic and I find personally that hutchins are the best. They are a bit heavier than the other sanders but the longevity is worth the extra weight. I recommend them highly and if I had the cash, all my sanders would be hutchins.
