Lightweight and thin wool socks

Great Socks

I have many Icebreaker socks. I love them. They are my favorite. I usually wear a small in the Hike+ model. Glad I went to a medium for the lifestyle. They are thin but they are super comfortable. Love them.

Smaller size, cheaper materials than advertised

I'm not one who typically spends $20 on a pair of socks, but sometimes you need to spend a little more to get high quality, well-fitting clothing. The Amazon description said I was getting an 82% merino wool pair of socks and I could order them in XL instead of the typical one-size fits most you see so often in retail stores. However, the packaging it arrived in clearly states that it is only 61% wool. In addition it's not a true XL, it's a M-XL which, on my XL feet, means the instep compression actually compresses the ball of my foot more than the instep. I feel a bit silly complaining about this since they're just socks, but honestly I dropped 20 bucks to get really nice socks and this is not what I ordered. UPDATE: It's disappointing that three months later the description is still wrong but I have warmed to these socks, they've stretched some and fit more comfortably now and they do keep my feet warm but not hot in the winter. I'm bumping it up to three stars.

Quality merino socks for dress

These are quality merino wool socks. They stay up as much as any below-the-calf wool socks do, which means I pull them up a couple times a day to keep them sharp looking. This color (grey, red, charcoal) looks great paired with slacks that have a hint of red or purple in them, or with grey slacks and a shirt with those colors. As with all patterned wool socks I've worn, there is slight fraying where the colors change. This happens with my smartwool argyle socks also, but is much worse with them than with this brand. I am very happy with the look and wear of them so far (4 months or regular wear). Things to note: - Slight fraying, so if you need your socks to look streamlined and perfect, these aren't for you. - Great color and the stripes do not detract at all, in my opinion. - Comfortable - Below the calf so they won't stay up all day without a little adjusting.

Wrong fabric content listed; otherwise great!

I'm overall really pleased with these socks. I can't comment on how they hold up over the long term, but I am still very pleased. I was sceptical of the hype around wool socks, but so far they're holding up to the challenge. They seemed slightly small to me; I bought large and I wear a size 10.5 shoe, but the fit is tighter than I'm used to. That said, it's not a huge problem and I'm getting used to the tighter fit. One other note: the description of the fabric content is wrong in the Amazon listing. These socks are actually 62% wool, 36% nylon, and 2% lycra/elastane (see attached photo).

I buy them for breathability in my dress shoes. they are pricey but are quite nice. for some reason my foot slips all over the place in my shoes with these socks though, and not with my other fancy brand black merino wool socks.

Durable. Comfortable.

Best ever. Comfortable fit. Great for a lightweight wool sock. I wear these with sneakers, boots, hikers, and even dress shoes. Fantastic product. Excellent durability. Might not last your whole life, but seems like they might be good for 5-10 years.

These socks are lightweight and warm

These socks are a real winner. Have had other socks this lightweight and they weren't warm at all. These socks are really warm and lightweight so you can wear them over other socks without your boots feeling "stuffed". I will be ordering more of these

Bequeme Socken, halten die Füße trocken und nutzen sich leider zu schnell ab

Ich habe insgesamt acht Paar dieser Socken und irgendwann muss bei denen etwa an der Produktion geändert worden sein. Die jüngsten Paare, die ich habe, sind schneller verschlissen als die ältesten. Generell haben diese Socken einen Schwachpunkt an der Achillessehne oberhalb der Ferse. Dort wo sich bei Halbschuhen der Rand des Schuhs befindet, reiben sich die Socken bei mir schnell auf, schneller als bei jedem anderen Sockentyp, den ich besitze und es ist egal welche Schuhe ich nutze. Bei dem Preis dieser Socken erwarte ich eine höhere Langlebigkeit. Schade, denn Kleidung von Icebreaker ist eigentlich eine sehr feine Sache.

Wollsocken

Der Wollanteil ist relativ gering. Ich hoffe, dass sie durch den hohen Synthetik-Anteil wenigstens haltbarer sind. Fühlren sich nicht so gut an wie z.B. Hike light mini vom selbsen Hersteller oder echte Norwegersocken aus 100% Wolle. Meine Füße haben die Socken aber vertragen, d.h. kein Jucken oder Schwitzen,... Der Schaft ist relativ hoch, geht schon eher Richtung Strümpfe.

Lebenslange Garantie auf Socken. Super Sache!

Tolle Socken. Musste zwar schon auf die Garantie zurückgreifen, weil sie ein Loch bekommen haben. Das ging aber ohne Probleme. Die Socken fühlen sich sehr angenehm an und sitzen perfekt.
