good, but high maintenance

i like the idea of the product, and i have about 30 of them installed in my house. the problem i have is the connectivity. many of them do not show up in my feed/list, and when have to update the software, its very difficult to keep them connected. but....i keep buying more, as i do like "the idea" of them. So i recommend, but note to folks they can be temperamental.

WiFi Version Not What You Think

I thought I could program the lights from my iPhone while away but you have to be in Blu Tooth range. The WiFi setup is not easy to understand and lacks good directions and will get you frustrated. Just skip it and buy the non wi-fi as it’s really easy to program without your iPhone and works great.

Great Buy

I like the ease of using the app with the control unit. A bit hard to connect with. the Support person coached me through the set up and he was great. Very understanding, patient and a willingness to see it through to end.

Great - Patience needed for install

The wiring setup was super easy. Getting it to work with my iphone took a while. I had to reset the device to the default. That let the iphone appl work. To get alexa to work I think you have to install both Intermatic skills. For some reason it didn’t register at first but then overnight it appears. Maybe a cloud sync delay. In any case it works well and looks so cool.

Best timer (and most expensive) I’ve Owned

I’ve had this timer for 3.5 months now. Lost power maybe half a dozen times since then and have had no issues with it keeping programming or internet connection. I was afraid it’d lose the connection after power loss from the router, but I haven’t had to do anything to this since I programmed it. I’m away from home home for weeks at a time and got tired of reprogramming my timers every time I got home due to power loss). Now I can check it from afar on the app, but from what I’ve seen, I don’t need to. Going to buy another to replace my other non WiFi timer because I’m sick of reprogramming it. The only issue with this is that it is a bit confusing to set up. Using an iPad with the app, you do have to go back and forth connecting directly (via wifi) to the timer, then going back to your router several times, which can be confusing. Just follow the instructions. But, once you figure it out and get it set up, the app makes it simple to program the timer and (in my experience) is trouble free.

Love it; love the company

I bought it used from Amazon. The package did not include any instructions. I tried to muddle through without even a scent of success. Since it had already been partially set up, It simply would not connect. So I sent an email to Intermatic and got a response the next day. Intermatic (Thank you, Mike Krawn; thank you, Ken Cox.) walked me through how to remedy that little problem. Now it works and works great.
