No Rust Solid Product.
I bought this I only needed the strainer cover to replace one that was cheap and rusted. This is installed in a guest bathroom that has been renovated and has only seen 4 showers in 1 year. The old one that I also bought on amazon rusted right away. I needed to replace it with one that is not made of cheap steel so I went with Kingston Brass as I have bought several of their other fixtures and have been happy with their quality. This item is a bit heavier grade than others on the market. A magnet will NOT stick to this which indicates that under the chromed finish is a non-ferrous metal which means NO RUST. I did not use the bottom drain part of the item though it is solid brass and is heavy and well built I will save it for repair or replacement needs in the future.

Very high quality brass tub drain
This is a much higher quality strainer and grid than what you can find at the big box stores. The strainer won't deform as easily as cheap ones if it's stepped on, and the threaded section that the screw goes through is very thick. The cheap Home Depot one I had previously had such a thin threaded section that the screw tore the threads out when someone stepped on the strainer.

Made the tub look like good again.
Easy to install. Common standard size and fit perfect. Our tub wasn't leaking so I didn't replace the rubber washer between the tub and the pipe, and saved the new one that came with this. Just removed the old drain, cleaned the threads and surface, placed a small bead of plumbing puddy around the lip, screwed this new drain into place, and wiped away the excess puddy from around the edge.. easy half hour job, and the tub looks good again.

Check your drain diameter and thread count
This was a nice, heavy drain! Unfortunately, it was the wrong diameter (1 1/2 instead of 1 1/4) and the wrong thread count (course instead of fine). Too bad they don’t make this with the fine thread count!

Tub Drain Strainer Did Not Fit
This is a heavy duty type. High quality. I would like to put it in but it was too big with a course thread. My old piece(vintage 1985) measured ID is 1.5" and thread OD is 1.625" with fine thread (16 TPI) . This new Drain Strainer is larger with course threads (11.5 TPI). Vendor would do well to explain how to measure old part in order to order the correct one. Plumbing measurements are complicated with ID, OD, threads per inch, and wall thickness. This part apparently comes is several sized and thread combos.

1 7/8" outside diameter
This tub strainer has an outside diameter of 1 7/8", not 1.5". It's a perfect fit for my tub, and is an unusual size that is difficult to find at the local home centre. Solid brass, so it shouldn't corrode like the cheap plated steel ones you find a Home Depot.
