Perfect Fit

These are getting harder and harder to find so I wanted to ensure that I replaced the original wooden seats with a more durable plastic seat; the soft close is an added bonus! It's comfortable and sturdy. It comes with the hardware needed to complete the job and ensure a perfect fit.

Uncomfortable

Ok, I know this is just a toilet seat and isn't supposed to feel like sitting on a cloud, but thing is uncomfortable! I am not a "big" girl so my weight/size shouldn't be an issue, but man this seat digs into my thighs in a very uncomfortable way. I have never experienced a toilet seat like this. If you have to sit there for more than a few seconds, which, let's face it, we all have to at some point, it is like agony on your legs. I am not talking about sitting there for an hour, I mean literally a minute or two is more than enough. Very strange! I do not see anyone else make a similar comment in any of the other reviews though, so I am not sure what the deal is or why I have this problem. My only other complaint is that the toilet seat does not stay up and you cannot push it totally upright without feeling like you're forcing it and will break it. So, my husband can't have the seat up and I can't have it up when cleaning it. Otherwise, it seems very well made. The hinges and caps are excellent. It is easy to install and the slow close feature is wonderful. It is such a love/hate relationship!

BEST SEAT EVER! Fits the odd shaped Emblem PERFECTLY!

I bought a home with an Eljer Emblem toilet in the master bacth never having any idea how difficult it would be to find a replacement! Well, the first week in, the wood seat broke and I had to find a replacement, fast! Looked and looked and found seats for nearly 100 and then I came to Amazon (why do I look anywhere else?) and found this one. In less than 15 minutes I was able to take the old seat off, clean thoroughly and then install the new one! The screwhead slots are wide enough that you can screw it in with a penny if you don't have a screwdriver handy. LOVED that it had two metal plates included to hold the screws either center or off center to make the seat shorter or longer in relation to the end of the bowl. Closes SMOOTHLY, no banging around after a middle of the night potty stop and love that it is antimicrobial and plastic, not wood! I used to wish that I did not have the Eljer Emblem at all, now I wish ALL the toilets were the same so I could buy this for every bathroom in the house!

I searched the internet for a replacement of my Eljer elongated wooden toilet seat that had the surface of the seat break down and just look horrible. I found this plastic seat at Amazon and much reflection decided that I would give it a try. Ordering through Amazon was easy, as usual. Deliver was as promised..thank you Prime. The installation was very simple-instructions are given for those who have not replaced these toilet seats before...no stress here. The seat does its job...it is relatively comfortable...for a toilet seat...easy to clean and maintain. This seat is unique in that you don't physically have to put the lid down after use (for those challenged by this). All you do is start the process and the seat/lid slowly closes by itself...no fuss...and again...easy. All in all it does as described...gives you a seat when you have to go.

Square front commode offers limited options - but this is a good one.

This was the seat that was the match to our square front commode, so options for seats were limited for us. This seat seems a bit "low" or 'thin" to us. This is most probably due to the fact that the seat it replaces was the thick, cushiony type which the former homeowners had installed -- badly. As for the EZ close feature -- that is very nice. One never has to worry about slamming the seat. It was easy to install and easy to keep clean. Best of all, it is a perfect fit for our model commode. We have no complaints.

Just so happy to have found these seats!

I was thrilled to find these seats and when I saw the bargain price on the "used" ones, I thought I'd save a little money and risk it. Well, I ordered 2 and they both came in the original plastic wrapping and boxes, they were not "used" at all! One was an EZ-Close and the other was a heavy wood type like the original seat we were replacing, it had a couple of minor, minor blemishes in the finish, but compared to the one we're replacing, it's fabulous. I don't care that it's not an EZ-Close at all, we're used to the heavy seat and never have a issue with slamming or dropping it. For under $8 each, how can I complain? I will say that the plastic EZ-Close one seems very nice, though and I would recommend this toilet seat to anyone with the Eljer elongated toilet that has the squared off front. They both fit wonderfully.
