Great for reviving old miniature paints!!
My husband paints minis and can’t shake the small paint jars anymore like he used to. This does AMAZING at breathing life into the tiny little paint pots and droppers for his 40k and other tabletop minis. A GREAT investment for the mini painter in your life!!! They will thank you!

So much better than shaking 2 oz paint jars by hand! Everything I hoped for! Update: 6 years later...I'd love to be the guy that paints furiously all the time but in reality, my paints can sit around for months...MONTHS...at a time...or longer...waiting for me to get creative. So, my big endorsement for this now is that no matter how long they've been sitting around, this vortex mixer works great. I'm not ashamed of being a casual miniaturist anymore. I am proud to paint some crap whenever I feel like it and to know that my neglected paints will be bright, fluid, and ready for my mediocre schlep!

Seems very solid, perfect for agitating paint bottles
The mixer is very heavy, won’t slide around on a work table. It does a fast job remixing bottles of craft paints. I’ll find out how durable it is in time, I suppose.

Perfect for paint mixing
My hands thank you. Definitely easier blending the paint and thinner. Very heavy construction which is a good thing. Very stable and no moving around on top of my table. Looks like this thing might last a long time.

Best Tattoo Ink mixer I've tried so far.
I am a 22 year traditional tattoo artists in a professional shop. I use this at my tattoo shop to mix up my inks well before I put them in the skin. I've noticed it makes the brightness and saturation of the colors better. You could never shake an ink bottle by hand like this thing does. Basically makes a liquid tornado form inside of the bottle. But I have found the best way to mix your most stubborn compacted inks is to shake them up and down by hand a little bit first then put them on the mixer then shake them by hand again then put them on the mixer again usually that gets even the most stubborn particles to break up. Occasionally you may have to lay it down sideways on the mixer if it's really super compacted Ink. Inks with the steel marble agitator inside work even better. You can hear the model get to spinning like a centrifuge. The only reason I'm not giving this five stars is because I liked it so much that I bought several for our shop but one of them we received had a sensor problem where it wouldn't shake correctly when you press the ink bottle down so I had to send it back and get a replacement. But one out of five is pretty good odds. Just check yours when you get it. Also the other brands that are a little bit cheaper have nowhere near the power that this one does ...this one is very powerful. Trust me I tried the cheaper one and it's no good. although I wish this one was a bit cheaper cause I would definitely buy more if so. The only way to make this better for tattoo artist is for a different rubber top that is specifically designed for industry standard ink bottle sizes instead of design for test tubes like this one is. Despite that it still works incredibly well. I plan to try it out on acrylic paints when I get back into painting soon as well

Works a treat and it's very durable if respected.
I picked this up pretty much just for mixing up paint bottle for miniature painting. To this end this thing handles everything and mixes nicely in just seconds. It's able to mix any kind of paint pot I can throw at it Citadel, Vallejo, Army Painter, and even some bigger glass jars of Liquitex inks. It's also a bit heavier than I thought which is good good along with it's rubber feet keep it from moving while shaking. One thing that really takes this up to the next level is also if you have mixing bead/ball in your paint too. So far after using for a little bit I have only 2 things that would be a downside. The first is the power cord that comes with this is very short, like very short. I got a 3 foot cord that barely reached the power strip on the floor under my painting desk, and I feel like this was meant for more of an actual laboratory setting where you have bench-top power plugs. The only other downside that isn't really a downside for me is the rubber top you rest your bottle or tube of paint on is very soft. So I could understand some other reviews mentioning the mixer broke after use. This is a higher end piece of kit and if you mush down on the top too hard you can break the rotating piece underneath. Overall though this thing is amazing and gets a solid recommendation from me, yes it is worth it over the cheaper $30-$60 mixers.

Save your wrist and your paint
It's 100% worth it. I've shaking paint by hand for years and this has done better than I ever have been able to do without a mixing stick. It even made my Army Painter paints mix completely.
