Good manipulative

Purchased this set for homeschool and both my 9 year old and 5 year old sons enjoyed using them. The bottom of each shape comes off (as it’s supposed to in order to get the inside piece out for observation) and can be difficult to keep up with. Maybe they could find a way to keep one side attached like you would a door? Otherwise, we just add some tape and it works fine.

These are super fun for early geometry

I got these to add to our geometry and be able to visualize those 3D shapes. I seriously love them! You open them and take them out and can see exactly what shapes make up the 3D form. My only complaint is the bottoms need tape to be able to stay attached or else they just fall off. I wish they could 'click' in better, or have a hinge so you can just open it and take the shape out. I'm worried about losing my bottoms haha.

Outstanding hands-on and visual presentation

I purchased this more in dire need than as my typical "research the heck out of it". I was not disappointed. Pros: Beautiful, clear geometric shapes with the folding nets that store inside. Excellent visual for a whole class: the triangular prism fits perfectly within the cube, and three of the square pyramids filled with rice filled the cube. The next day the students (7th grade) were still talking about it. Cons: The removable plastic "lids" (bases?) tend to pop off, and some of the nets are already trying to break the bounds of their respective 3-D shapes. The 8 cm side of the cube measures the same as the triangular prism and square pyramid - on the OUTSIDE. This is NOT helpful when you try to put 512 centimeter cubes within the 8 cm cube - they don't fit. It was kind of a bummer not to be able to show that part of concept. Overall: I'm going to buy more of these so teams of students can use them. Even with the short-comings, these geometric shapes are the best I've found.

Disappointed- looks used

These shapes look like they have been used. They are scratched and dirty. Overall, I like the concept, but I am disappointed with the quality of the product.

I was very disappointed with this kit. Part of my issues with it is the fault of amazon and not the product. It looked like it had been purchased then returned and resold. The box was damaged, the pieces were loose, the sticky tabs that are supposed to hold the pieces together during shipping had been half pulled off (leaving sticky spots), and there strands of hair in the box. That aside the pieces aren't really what I expected. They don't seem durable. The inside colorful pieces are a softer, textured plastic that has thin plastic pieces that function as 'hinges'. These 'hinges' seem like they will wear out quickly with use. The outer clear pieces are a sharp, brittle plastic that seems like it would crack easily if dropped. Every one of the clear plastic pieces has sticky spots from the clear stickers. They would have to be scrubbed off, not something I want to take the time to do. This kit gets three stars from me because it's unique and does a very good job at illustrating geometry concepts. The only other option is to make paper cutouts and do without the clear outer part (which is helpful). With older kids I might keep it and deal with the issues but my kids aren't old enough yet to need something that shows volume relationships. In my opinion it's too expensive for the quality so I'll be printing out templates on sturdy paper to cut out paper shapes instead.

Great product besides the missing piece

I'm trying to contact the seller for one single missing part, the triangular prism, but the only option available is to return the whole thing. It is a great teaching product and I dont want to return it; I just want the missing triangular pyramid

Very good introduction tool for geometry as it has the 3D shapes and the net shapes but it only had 8 shapes -some sets come with more. The size was excellent though for using it for volume measurements as well. It helped my 8 year old sone but my 2 year old likes getting them out and putting them all together too. Strong shapes, strong plastic and strong net shape inserts as well. Very durable, excellent quality

Great Product For Maths Tuition Of Nets, Surface Area, And Volumes.

I am a maths tutor at waveney-tutoring.co.uk. I bought this product to help me tutor tutees in surface area of 2D shapes and volumes of 3D shapes. Tutees of all ages love using them. The nets are great. The product is well made and provides a great help to explain a topic some find difficult.
