Replaced an SP37 ? Overflow Gasket

This product fit fine and took care of the leaking overflow on my tub after installing with a coating of petroleum jelly. It was the same size and fit as my old cracked and leaking gasket where the only markings on it were SP37 and PATENT PENDING. Attached are some pictures of old and new side by side and the markings on the old gasket. I will agree that it seemed softer than the original, but definitely still foam rubber. Hardness difference could just be due to age, but it was weird that the description specifically mentions that the gasket is hard.

Product was too thick!

The gasket was just too thick to use. It was of good quality but I could not get space to insert it. Ended up using Plumbers Putty which worked fine.

Foam rubber Fits into ridged gap but seems flimsy.

This rubber piece is not hard at all it is foam rubber that seems like it would tear easily. But it does seal well so far and fit into a non-moveable gap between the tub and overflow flange. A stiffer rubber would not be as easy to install. Just be very careful not to rip it when installing in the gap. Deduct 1 Star for being flimsy.

This Will Stop Water Leaking Into Your Wall Behind Tub Overflow

I was having problem with my overflow leaking into the wall; I read that it needed a new gasket. I bought this and it solved the problem. My plumber who installed it said it was a good product when he installed it for me. Thanks so much for a wonderful product.

Not really rubber

Does seem to work, it's not really rubber but more like a foam material. Item is as described but is slightly larger and more flexible than i would have liked.

Worked for me.

Wasn't sure if this would work, but it was just the ticket. Thought it would be difficult to fit but went on without much of a struggle. 1957 tub. Described as hard rubber, but the inner layer is more of a foam so it seemed to compress nicely and the flexibility helped when getting it fitted around the waste pipe.

No leaks so far. This product does what it's suppose to do.
