14-inch drop

The soft cotton fabric is sturdy, and the bed skirt is well constructed. Although the online description failed to mention the drop length, I took a chance because I liked the blue and white striped design and because I trust the quality of Laura Ashley products. The drop length is 14 inches.

Exactly the dust ruffle I needed. Nice quality. I almost always love Laura Ashley products. This is no different.

Don't Buy This: Laura Ashley No Longer Means Quality

I guess I'm showing my age when I say Laura Ashley used to be a high quality designer brand. Now they are a more affordable (though not inexpensive) brand, and here's why: The quality is terrible. Though this is called "ticking" in the description, I can assure you if you know fabric, that this is NOT in fact actual ticking. It is a ticking-esque printed stripe that only passes for ticking from a distance. The fabric is thin and the gathers are sparse and unevenly spaced. (How uneven? Sometimes there are 2-3 inches between tiny gathers. Other times 1 inch.) Also the portion that goes under the mattress isn't even actual fabric, that part is made of cheap disposable fabric like the disposable shorts you get for certain doctor appointments. It does the job, but if you have to adjust it under the mattress much or wash it much, it isn't going to hold up. In fact I would only put it in a low heat setting if drying in the dryer. In short, I might keep this because I can't afford the real ticking ones I've seen, but I am very, very disappointed in the quality. This is NOT your mother's Laura Ashley. Don't bother with this one. It is overpriced for this low level of quality. Keep shopping.

Poor quality fabric
