Smallest lock that fits Pelican Vault series cases

I spent a while researching locks in an attempt to find the smallest lock for my Pelican V200 case. I was hoping to find something with a slightly smaller body since no lock on this type of case is going to prevent someone from opening the box if they really want to. None of the "30mm" locks had the right dimensions, either they were a few mm too short or 30mm too long. These locks click into place with no wiggle room which is fantastic as they don't rattle around or allow someone to open the case 1/4"+ like the typical 1"-1.25" shackle locks. My use case is indoor so I can't comment on weather resistance. The only negative I can come up with is the locks only come with two keys. Buy one lock, get two keys, buy four keyed alike, still only two keys. Most of the junk import locks come with two or three keys per lock which is unnecessary, but it would be nice if masterlock could include four keys when purchasing two or more keyed alike locks.

Sharp edges

I use these to lock my Pelican 1170 case when flying with my firearm. I can barely get them on and off the 1170, but I can. The only issue with them is that they have sharp edges, which seems to be a cost-saving measure by Master Lock. It works excellently to follow federal regulations locking my CCW pistol inside a hard-sided case that I put inside my regular suitcase. They feel very secure in this use case.

Sturdy Locks

These locks are sturdy and easy to open or close. They are used on our two outside sheds for the past eight months. The locks were exposed to elements such as rain and snow. There's no visible wear to the locks so far.

Sturdy and strong

I love how the product has weight to it. Sometimes you buy padlocks and they just feel... cheap. Master has always provided a great quality lock. One thing that I am a little disappointed with is there's no rubber seal around the hatch like other brands are doing, so it's easy to get water in there that can contribute to rust. So for an outdoor lock, It would be ok, but if you live off the ocean, I wouldn't recommend it as salt gets into literally everything. The four locks only come with two keys, so this is another pain, I didn't read the description so that was on me, but having a third key that you can "hide" is sometimes useful. I hope you found this review helpful. Thumbs up!
