Good quality shears, not for large fingers
These are excellent quality in every way except one: The holes in the handle are too narrow for large fingers. I took away one star for that issue.

Very Fine Kitchen Scissors
This design is very familiar to me under a different label. I used that famous-name look-alike for several years. Anyone who uses 'poultry shears' very much knows that they are 'consumable' and will need to be replaced fairly often. These Mercer shears are well made from fine quality materials. They came out of the package with superb sharpness and a silky, precision slice in the first cuts that has not gone away with longer use. The heft is sufficient for disjointing chicken or rabbit or duck. Of course, we will also find them handy and they will be used to cut parchment and to snip beans and to open polymer pouches of one thing or another. They work fine for each of those applications. I bought these particular scissors because they come apart. I have considerable experience in (trying to) sharpen(ing) cutting tools, including scissors and I have finally found an electric band sharpener/grinder for kitchen use that really does the job and that has adjustable angle guides to suit different implements. With scissors, the important thing is to be able to separate each blade so as to sharpen each side equally and from tip to butt. Of course, separation also helps in cleaning the joint area and sanitation is important...but scissors can work much longer if they can be sharpened. I highly recommend this Mercer design for quality, fit, finish and functionality.

Good quality
I have a set of mercer knives I got for school, so I thought I'd get some kitchen shears to match. I like that they come apart for cleaning. They are sturdy and should last a long time just like the knife set has. Most of the kitchen shears I've had before have been light weight and cheap. These feel much more substantial.

Excellent set of kitchen shears
I wanted a set of shears that we study, easy to clean, and that was tough. These fit the bill! The shears actually come apart so you can clean and sharpen them. They are very sturdy and well made and come already well sharpened. I think these are the only shears I will need to buy in my lifetime.

Identical to the Wusthof classic shears!
Every bit as good as some of the higher end, expensive brands! I have compared them to my Wusthof classic shears, they are identical!!! You can’t beat that price for the quality.
