I did it myself!

These were definitely easy to install in our shower. The spongy part is what gives out, shrinks, hardens & crumbles. Then the weight of the shower curtain plus pulling when opening & closing eventually makes the rod slip out of place. I removed the old ones & replaced the ends myself. It's very easy to do. Great product that lasted for years & years.

Will Work

The previous owner had nasty rubber ends on the rod and when I took it down to put on new rings and curtain I found the spring pressure was so strong that the rod had cut a plug out of one of the ends allowing the rod to scar the wall. This set said it fit a 1" dia. rod, which mine is, so I bought it as a replacement. The non-adjustable end fit fine, however there seemed to be a lot of space around the rod with the adjustable end. That end seems to be cone shaped. It may be 1" at the end closest to the wall but I had to wrap the rod a number of times with duct tape to get it to fit snugly on the rod. The spring pressure in the rod is strong so I didn't need to do any adjustment for length on that end. In the end this set will work fine and, even using duct tape, it still looks better than the old rubber ends. This set seems sturdy, is metal, and designed so that the rod can never go through the rubber pads. One review mentioned one of rubber pads falling off but the pads are sized to slip into the ends but they're not glued to the metal and are held in place by the outward pressure against the wall. The set arrived in a bubble mailer but the box holding the set was totally crushed (see pic) but, being metal, the set was undamaged. Pics incl. original ends where rod went through one and both a closeup (w/wall scarring) and distant shot of the adjustable end. Even though this set is inexpensive and will work I can't give it 5 stars.

Perfect replacement for a knockoff that was previously installed.

The flange is high quality and sturdy. Simple to replace.

Great buy. Works better than sliding two piece rods.

Ironically we replaced our 35 year old rod and ends with the same thing. Works well. Lasts. We like this better than a two piece rod.

Adjustable end is too large and loose but works and looks good

The flanges are of good quality and work as intended. The adjustable end is too loose on the rod and should be a bit smaller diameter to fit the rod properly. The fixed end fits perfectly if a little tight. I would rather have it tight. The quality is good as expected for Moen products.

Works great

I realize that this item works great but soon discovered that it wasn't the problem. The problem lies with my shower rod not having an extension. But hey, it's always good to have handy for 3 bucks.

Not the same as old one - need washers

My old shower curtain rod caps were looking bad, with the chrome turning black. The rod is fine since it was made with aluminum. However, the new ends made the rod too short because the rod inserted too far into the caps. I had to buy washers to put into the caps to make them work. The quality is nice, just the design changed.

Works perfectly

Old end caps wouldn't hold the curtain rod in place effectively. The original rubber grip inserts had dried out and were disintegrating. These are the perfect end caps for Moen 2-100-5A Donner Shower Rod.

Very sturdy... made out of metal unlike the one that was previously on my shower curtain rod. It was east to install and fits the shower rod percectly

Brought it to replace the original one which was broken after 5 years. Fits well. It's metal so I expect it to last longer than the old one.

1mm short - had to improvised

The original flange on my shower rod broke and they looks identical to these But when in install this, with my original rod, even when I extend the screw to make it longest possible. This is likely due to the design is slightly different so a bit more of the rod fits into cap so the whole thing became slightly shorter. I had to improvise by adding an extra rubber pad at the end. Hope it stays
