Still haven't figured this one out...
My previous review is still below. Now that MOEN sent me replacement parts for the inside of this valve, it finally worked, and I have upped my rating from one to three stars. I still feel that the device is difficult to install and adjust. Even today, MOEN had to walk me through how to adjust the temperature ranges. Even with the new parts MOEN sent, I only got water that was hot (90 degrees) to very hot (120 degrees). That was it. No cool water, ever. The directions that came with the valve were impossible to interpret. William at MOEN had me take off the handle and adjust the center of the cartridge with a pair of pliers. Twist it one way and the water starts at a cooler temperature. Twist it the other way and the staring point is a higher temperature. Once the low temperature is set, one can then see if the highest temperature is acceptable. Now the only issue is that when installing the trim handle for the valve, I cannot get the center push button (for an override on the max temp -- you can dial up a hotter temp) to work smoothly. It keeps sticking. Push it in and it stays in. I have to jiggle the handle to get it to pop out again. It's supposed to pop out on its own when you dial to a lower temperature. It has just been so very frustrating that this valve was at first defective, but then still does not assemble easily. That is why my new rating is 3 stars. Hopefully MOEN will call me back (I left a message for them to do this almost four hours ago) or I will just have to live with the jiggling of the handle to get that center button to pop out. This item is NOT as expected for how much it cost. OLD REVIEW: My contractor and I have spent two days and multiple phone calls to MOEN trying to get this brand new, out of the box valve to regulate the water temperature. We have taken it apart, flushed all the valves, verified hot and cold water lines, etc. only to install the trim to find out that only all hot or all cold water comes out. After the fifth phone call with technical help, it was determined by MOEN that the "new" cartridge must be defective and needs to be replaced. I could not get one technician to help who was very familiar with this valve. Some of the technicians obviously had a valve in front of them, but they were not familiar with the part names or how they operated. Others were more skilled. I wish they would assign one technician to a case so that each phone call did not have to start all over again with the same questions..."On which side is the valve labeled hot?" "Is the supply pipe going up or going down?" etc. I also could not get one technician to go out of sequence with their questions to answer my questions. I even sent photos but the technician misinterpreted the image (which then told me he was NOT familiar with the item). MOEN is shipping me a new valve. It will arrive tomorrow and if I am able to get it to work I will edit this rating and the posting. So far this "should be simple" install has turned into a very expensive nightmare in just lost time and wasted efforts. The thought that we might have to replace the entire valve assembly has me extremely worried since the access hole to this valve is small and the valve is large. Hopefully the guts of the new valve can be switched out to effect a repair of the defective one. If water lines have to be switched (like in another review) my hallway wall will have to be opened to access the pipes.

Update: No cold water
Update to review below: I am changing my rating from 1 star to 4 stars. It turned out to be a defective stop. I removed the stop and now I am getting cold water, Moen is sending me a replacement free of charge. I do agree with the calibration being wonky with the other reviews here. I talked to Moen and the valve is designed to output a temperature range from 80 degrees minimum to 105 degrees max. If you'd like it hotter than 105 degrees, you have to push in the handle and rotate it to get hotter water. I did not like this feature, especially since I enjoy taking cold showers, (70 - 75 degrees) on a hot sweaty day to cool off! The fix was to grind off the stops on the handle using a dremel, and now I have full range of water from 70 degrees to 108 degrees without pushing and pulling the valve in and out. Previous review: I just installed this in my master shower and there is no cold water! I hope the only problem is a defective cartridge. Prior to installation, (brand new out of the box), I blew into the cold side and it was very restricted, I figured with water pressure it might work ... I was mistaken. I am not a big fan of this valve as it is defective from the factory. With the cartridge removed there was no restriction. On a side note, the Moen s3600 volume control valves work very well. I have 4 of them installed in the shower, one to control the main shower head, one for sliding bar hand shower head, one for rain shower head, and one for body sprays - moen s1300 (see pics). The body sprays use a lot of water (2 gpm each), so I decided on installing 2 of them on the rear wall (instead of 4) with a valve on the rear wall to control them. The body sprays come with a nice mounting bracket but I decided not to use it so I can turn the inlet and outlet horizontal for a pressure loop. With the S3371 mixing valve, I can run 3 out of 4 shower features at the same time, 60 psi without a noticeable drop in pressure.

Does not shut off water to shower head
This product does nothing more than mix hot water and cold water no different than having a hot water faucet and a cold water faucet on a sink. If you buy this valve, you must buy an additional Moen 3600 valve, which does nothing other than turn the water on and off. The total cost of having this temperature control valve and a on off volume control valve along with the two sets of trim means this valve will run you $700 just to run a shower head. If you have a handheld, you will need to buy an additional Moen 3600 volume control valve, which again is nothing more than an on/off valve, plus the trim that goes with that valve which adds another $200 to the set up bringing the grand total to $900 for the Temperature control valve and 2 “volume control” valves to turn off your shower head and hand held. Absolutely ridiculous. Skip this product. Buy Delta for $150.

Make sure to check the hot water valve
Great valve but the hot side valve was barely open when we installed it. Typically, the hot and cold are balanced out of the factory. This specific one was not... we should not have assumed it was. We ended up finishing the shower and then having to cut out the wall on the opposite the shower to get access to the pipes since we thought the hot water pipe was bad... Turns out the hot water adjustment was almost completely closed...

Looks beautiful, works better than it looks
The Moen ExactTemp Temp control valve rough-in works great. The Arris Valve trims, towel bars in chrome are great. I like the entire collection, including towel bars, grab bars, faucets, shower arms, towel hooks, and pivoting-toilet paper holders. If Moen made toilet brush holders that are mounted on the wall, I'd have bought that, too. But Grohe makes great ones. BTW, the Moen Iso collection goes well with the Arris collection. I bought Moen's Iso 3-globe light-fixtures and glass shelves. AND THEY ALL HAVE A LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY!!!

Works as advertised.
I found it a little tricky to adjust, (not hot enough), but then we were really pleased with it.
