The only real issue I had with this foot pedal was the force needed to make the unit turn left (almost had to stand up). This effort always resulted in overturn. To fix this issue, I changed out the springs (5 min DIY) with C-750 springs. This made all the difference needed. The unit is now very easy to turn left and right. I can even make little micro adjustments by tapping with front or heel of foot. The springs are available on Amazon for around $7.00 a pair. I am now very happy with this foot pedal.

It works... but fine control is almost impossible.
I need to try and find a sensitivity setting on this device - it works - turns left, right, speeds up and slows down, but I find the steering to be overly sensitive and it's tough to just 'bump' the motor to change directions slightly. I also find it requires a lot of foot pressure to turn left or right. It also seems backwards from my old trolling motor - pressing the back edge of the pedal would turn the boat right to left, and the front of the pedal would turn left to right. This was much more 'intuitive' to me. This pedal is the reverse.

Will not turn left
This is the 4th foot pedal that had the same problem. Works fine for just over a month (warranty is 30 days) and for no reason it stops working. The last pedal I bought lasted 35 days and motorguide will not warranty. I Will never buy a motorguide product again.

These foot controls are junk.
I bought two of these. The first one I bought it worked maybe two hours. So I sent it back and got a refund. Thought I may have received a bad unit. Ordered the second one. It worked maybe four hours then it quit.

Fit my needs
I have read some reviews on other sights that say batteries were going dead fast. I have put in lithium ones and have had it out three days and still going strong. The only reason I gave it a 4 is because it does not change direction slowly. You almost need to tap it to make short correction. I read some people say it with break in and get easier, I hope so! It has done what I wanted and that was when I caught a fish, I can use the peddle instead of trying to use hand help remote while fight said fish, not good. Overall very happy with product.

Didn't work for me
This foot pedal was easy to set up although I had to put it up next to my ear to hear it beep when turning on and off. The pedal was harder to push forward and backward to turn the motor left and right and it was very hard to to push it just hard enough to move the motor a little, it would want to turn half way around before I could get my foot off of it. I sent it back. The hand control was easier to use.

Resistance to left and right turns
The tension springs for left and right turns are much to stiff. It takes all the weight of my heel and/or toe end of my foot to activate the turn. Once the turn is activated it goes beyond the anticipated direction. Then it becomes a back and fourth reaction to correct the response. A softer resistance spring would make a softer control to left and right adjustments to the desired direction.
