Great for the commercial kitchen environment

I bought these as a gift for my son who is a sous chef. He is on his feet in slippery conditions for long hours. These are the first of this brand he has had, and is thrilled with the non-slip, comfort and ventilation. Just the right amount of water proofing plus breathability. I don't think he'll consider any other shoes going forward.

Well made, comfy, but extra padding makes them tighter than the Merlins.

These shoes are just as good as the rest of the shoes from ShoesForCrews, but when I got them, they were a bit on the tight side, which I believe is because of the extra padding they have as opposed to the Merlins. I would recommend getting a half-size bigger than what you normally wear. I did this and then they were perfect.

Need a non slip? Buy these!

My husband and I have both worked in bars/restaurants for 25 +/- years and these are the BEST non slips we’ve tried, hands down. I’m FOH, he’s BOH. I’d say style wise I personally prefer the high top over the lows for the little bit of extra ankle support. Fits true to size. We usually have to trade out the insoles at least once between purchases of existing and new pairs as the insoles get worn down/need arch support refresh/etc., but that’s minor and to be expected when you’re on your feet as much as we are.

Food stuck in tread

These shoes are comfy and very slip resistant. However, the tread is a deep and it gets alot of food bits trapped inside. It's not the easiest to clean out either short of spraying it with a hose. Anyway, the way I found out about the food in the tread was because of the smell. After a week my shoes smelled like a dumpster and now I keep them outside

Thick, soft sole.

I eventually removed the factory insole. I tend to wear those out quickly. I find the sole to still be soft without it, and I don’t feel like I’m balancing on a pile of marshmallows. It should be noted that I’ve been working on a wooden floor on a pier and beam foundation. More cushioning is required on concrete, even if there is another flooring material over the concrete. These shoes fit as expected and they have held up well, except for the insoles. They are a little wider than a chuck taylor. The arch support is moderate, but I prefer to have shoes without it. Your feet may be different than mine. The slip resistance has been good, and the ventilation is not bad.

Best Restaurant shoes I've ever owned!

Honestly I have been searching for a shoe that I could use in the kitchen that didn't wear out within 6 months. I am a big guy so supination happens due to being constantly on my feet cooking in a restaurant. It makes for sore feet, hips, and bad back. Having a firmer shoe that doesn't tow out makes these last longer and the sole is a true non slip. Not to mention they look cool too!

Not going back to cheap Non-Slips again

As a bartender these shoes are perfect. Slip resistant enough to handle running through a busy kitchen, yet casual looking and stylish enough to go out after my shift. Wore these almost every day for a year in rough conditions until they got a little raggedy and the laces broke off when I was pulling on them a little too tight. The shoes only grew to be more comfortable with wear and I still opt for my old pair if I’m going on a walk or running errands. They’re Waterproof enough to handle spills and small puddles, but I wouldn’t wear these in a very wet setting (brewery?) I recommend these shoes to anyone in a restaurant environment.

Best Work Shoes I’ve Ever Bought

My husband cannot stop wearing these shoes even when he’s not at work. He walks about about 20,000 steps a day and he LOVES these shoes. They were highly recommend by a associate also in the restaurant industry. They are so comfortable, non-slip, and seem very high quality. He is already talking about buying a 2nd pair! Definitely worth a try.

Poor craftsmanship!

Don’t get me wrong these shoes are comfortable .However I’m not sure they are made to last. I’ve worn these shoes for exactly 2 weeks , approximately 80 hours of kitchen work and the glue is already starting to come off the left toe of the shoe .Not impressed considering the high price of these I would expect far better craftsmanship:(

for narrow feet

okay so I have mixed feelings about the shoes probably because I should have ordered a half size up but I thought they would stretch out a bit, not the case. I do love the look of them and that they are definitely for feet that are narrow like mine, almost too narrow because I had to cut the elastic parts on the tongue. After that I found them to be very comfortable to wear all day in the kitchen, 10 hour shifts for 14 days straight. Only my pinky toes were uncomfortable when I put them on at the beginning of my shift, ordered a 9.5 but should have gone with the 10's cause the toe cap is a little snug. As for water resistant I would say that the are only resistant to the soul line, I sprayed them clean near the end of my shift and my feet were soaked. I'll definitely buy another pair in a bigger size next time
