Light to Moderate support

My purchase was to provide a bit of support for a nagging 'runners knee'. I'd previously used elastic compression style sleeves, but my doc recommended the patella hole style to support better alignment. the pros: The material seems heavy duty. The seams and patella hole are bound/overstiched well. The material allows flexibility w/o bulk during runs. The cons: The material is prickly and itchy on the skin-moderately annoying and doesn't diminish until I remove it from my leg. The patella hole is roughly 1.75" in diameter and doesn't stretch larger than 2". This small size makes it difficult to capture the knee. Sleeve is shorter on the thigh than I like, but covers the knee well. Overall length is 9.75". Sleeve doesn't have the beads/rings of silicone a the top of thigh area that other sleeves have. Adding this feature to this sleeve would help maintain better position. Without the silicone feature here was some minor slipping down of this area during my run. I purchased the SM/MD size based on other reviewers. I have a 16" knee, so it was on the edge of both sizes. I am certain the LG would have been too big. It was a fair price for a moderate brace. I've used it twice so I can't speak to durability performance as other reviewers have.

Good but kneecap hole is too small.

This is a well made elastic support. However the kneecap hole is so small that it just sits on top of the kneecap. I wanted, and still want, a band like this that actually surrounds the kneecap and supports all sides of it. Seller might want to see if it can arrange for a choice of kneecap holes. I'm going to cut the hole larger and see if the edge of the hole can be adequately seamed.

Important Suggestions

Highly recommended and offering some important suggestions. I am 120 pounds and wear the medium size. My problem is with my left kneecap coming off center, because of this problem I had sprained my knee. Exercises, such as tighting the knee and building quads has been helpful, but the problem still exists. The brace keeps the kneecap tracking properly. I wear a lighter brace on the right knee because it has the job of supporting the left knee. Very thankful I can safely walk. FYI the side supports are metal and will NOT pass airport screening. For flying I use the elastic knee supports. Suggestions: the support has changed and the switching is wider. I had to sew the top of my support where the stitching came undone. More importantly is the narrow elastic at the top and bottom. This needs to be wider so it doesn't make an impression in the skin. I have started rolling the top down to lessen the pressure in one location. This wonderfully helpful product can be improved.

Did the job !

Used it, liked it ! Not sure if it helped my knee ? Support is there, my use was to alleviate pain n cause no further damage. In my case rest proved to be the real cure. Pondering ordering a second one for sports. Knee damage prevention / protection, is key for me. Day to day, isn't my main concern. Fits just fine sm/m, not sure if it just my skinny legs.

Don't get this if you're Petite

This is too big for a petite person (4'10). My knee circumference is exactly 12 inches and this product advertises 12-16 inches. Well, it definitely starts at least 14 inches - it's so big it doesn't even wrap closely to my skin - defeats the whole purpose of knee stabilizer. Mueller needs to advertise this as medium. I'm giving this a 3 star because I'm sure it does the job - there are 2 stabilizers on each side, but because the product is advertised sm-md, I'll have to knock out the 2 stars since it clearly is for wider knee circumference.

It runs BIG!! Downsize to small

I have a sprained muscle. This looked very promising and the price range was just excellent. I did measure my knee (14 inches) so I ordered a small and as soon as it got here i put it on and it was too big. It falls off !!! I put some workout leggings on and it feels somewhat loose (still!) I wish it was a bit tighter so I get the support that i need for my muscle. I think i need A extra small brace!

My knee measures 15" so ordered the 12-16" model. A wee bit tight I have to say. However the 16-20" for me may have been way to loose. Update: Successfully used whilst skiing to give a bit of confidence given my slightly dodgy knee. Initially a bit tight but after a few hours use the material did give a bit and became more comfortable. By the end of the week no probs. It's now been through the wash and fits very well. No point having a loose support but I'd still suggest the larger model may suit a 14-16" knee better.

A good support. Highly recommended.

I already had one of these which I use for playing squash, so this was a replacement. It is much better than the sweaty neoprene knee supports available and the boned sides give extra support where I need it for my knee problem.

Never again from this buyer!!

The sizing on the description is rubbish. Mine came and was way too small and tight so have never been able to return it since I threw the packaging away before I tried that thing on!! So on a whole very disappointed and doesn't deserve even 1 star!!

I really like this support as i train muay thai and this does not restrict movement with giving and gives a decent amount of support.
