Best value for the money (and I've tried them all)

I was a Bare Minerals lady for years before discovering the drug store brands were doing similar things. I've always been grossed out by skin-colored liquids, so most foundations have been out for me. Pressed powder isn't gross to me, but doesn't seem to work that well if that's the only foundation you're using, so I've tried a bunch of those and used a knife to scrape it into a loose powder. It's a lot of hassle and many of them don't work that well anyway. I've tried pretty much all the drug store loose powder foundations I could find (Physician's Formula, CoverGirl, Maybelline, L'Oreal, etc.). None of them are as good as this Neutrogena stuff. It doesn't smell bad, it's nice and sheer if you only apply a little but can be built for a bit more coverage, and you get a nice amount of it for the money. I alternate between two different colors depending upon the season, and I've found there's quite a bit of leeway before either of them looks too light or too dark. It's never too pink or too yellow and never look unnatural. It would be nice if it could provide a tiny bit more coverage, but I don't think that's the intention of this product. I think most people are cool with using a little liquid concealer or a base foundation instead (again, I'm in the minority for hating that stuff). All in all, I kind of wished I had just stuck with this rather than trying to find better elsewhere. Would have saved me a lot of time and money. I think if you have super warm or super cool undertones and need something really specific, this might not work as well for you, but otherwise, I'm not sure there's anything better.

I've used this powder for years. It used to come with a great brush that fits perfectly in the container. No more.

Does the job

I'm in my forties and I have very oily skin. I struggle to find a foundation that stays put and doesn't feel like a mask. This mineral powder works well enough. It oxidizes a little more than I'd like, it looks a little orange by the end of the day.

I am surprised at how much I LOVE this foundation

I am surprised at how much I LOVE this foundation. I have never liked foundations because I don't like how they sit on my skin. I actually look forward to applying this and get compliments my skin when wearing it. Not on the makeup-but on my skin...that goes to show how natural it really appears. I am surprised at how natural and even my skin looks with this on. Not cakey or heavy. I can't feel it on my skin, and other products-bronzer, blush and powder highlight, sit lovely on top of it. My only complaint is that I get VERY fair in the winter and I won't be able to use it anymore. I have my summer "tan" (I use the word tan loosely) right now and I am in the lightest shade. I am using a real techniques multi task brush to apply it. The coverage is light to light-medium. I feel like it evens out my skin tone beautifully. I conceal with a creamy applicator, then buff a light amount this into my skin in circular motions. If needed, I repeat one more time for more coverage. Light layers is key. I use very little product everyday. I feel like this container will last me a very long time. If you have been wanting to try a powder foundation, give this one a try! I have normal skin, with an oily t-zone. Sometimes I have to blot with a paper and run the brush with leftover product back over my forehead, but I don't mind at all considering it takes less than a minute. It is worth it for how soft and natural the finish is!

Favorite!

I am genuinely shocked by the number of people leaving reviews that use the crappy little applicators that come with their make up. Neutrogena has stopped including the applicators for environmental reasons. You don’t have to spend a lot to get decent brushes or beauty sponges these days, and it certainly isn’t worth putting down a product that works so well. I’m mid 40s and this does not settle in any lines nor does it look like I have anything on my face. I really dislike the look of foundation and this is the perfect compromise between natural looking skin and even light to medium coverage. I received a completely sealed brand new product, well packaged and in perfect condition. This mineral foundation is just as good as other more expensive brands. Be warned however, It will oxidize ever so slightly after about a half hour, so since I am between natural ivory and classic Ivory I choose the lightest one (classic) for winter and mix both shades for summer.

Pleasantly Surprised

I saw the reviews and there were claims this powder was similar if not better than Bare Minerals in terms of value, sheerness, etc. I was pleasantly surprised and will continue using this product. So far so good as I've been using Neutrogena for the past several months and it works just as well if not better than Bare Minerals.

Great for oily skin

Listen, I have tried so many face products out there for my awful oily skin and this is definitely part of my routine that I cannot live without. I don't normally use this as just a foundation because it doesn't give the coverage I want for day to day, I usually only wear it by itself if I'm feeling lazy. I usually use a mattifying foundation/BB cream mixture and then put this on top. I think it really helps absorbing the ungodly amounts of oil that my face producing during the day while still making my skin look pretty. Because I use so many powdery and mattifying products I like that this has a little bit of shimmer in it (not sparkle, just like a glow) to make my skin look nice. I wish it came in a lighter color because the classic ivory is still a little dark in my opinion but I just counter act that by having my foundation a little lighter and bringing it down my neck. Overall I really like this product and it's a staple in my beauty routine.
