Hand to grind off tab and drill additional holes for screws. After that fit perfectly.

If you have a Norcold Refrigerator, this is a must have item.
The refrigerator door hinges are made out of plastic. The lower hinge broke from items being placed in the door trays. Glued the hinge back together with no luck of repair lasting very long before having the same result. Duct taped the door inplace to finish trip. Permanent fix was reglueing and installing the hinge reinforcement. The manufacture does not expect the door trays to be used or this upgrade would have been completed prior to selling the refrigerator. Installation is easy. The kit comes with everything for right hand or left hand door opening.

Not made for N8X models, but can be modified to work
This hinge kit is not made for N8X model but can be modified to make it work. I had to cut away the U hook, thus making it working for both freezer and refrigerator doors. I used counter sunk screws and burred the holes on the bracket so it sits flush and not interfere with the bottom of the hinge.

Works !
I was able to epoxy the lower broken hinge back into place .. Install this kit to add extra support - So far so good !! The kit comes with 2 hinges depending on if your door is a right hand or left hand swing. You only need to use the one for your door swing on the lower hinge. No screws or anything needed - its a friction fit.

A Lifesaver!
We were told we would need to buy a new door for our Norcold refrigerator. After doing a little research, we found that with J-B Weld and this hinge our door works fine. If the door is not broke yet, get the hinge support to prevent it from breaking. This is a Norcold manufacturing defect! This hinge was easy to install at a great price! Saved us lots of money!

NORCOLD N8X - DOES NOT FIT / WORK
So like others have commented, this product simply didn’t fit the N8X model frig. It will slide in, but does not slide in or to the left far enough. It is clearly for another model. I called Norcold, who was very friendly and helpful, and they said their only solution to date for the N8X model was replacing the door. So I opted to JB Well’d the plastic hinge back on the door, letting it sit for 24 hours or more, and it seems to hold fine when reinstalled on the refrigerator. Using the top piece of the purchased brace as a guide, I am fabricating a metal brace to fit underneath, as others have suggested (see photo of printed shared design template , to strengthen and better support the door. Will 3D print the piece first, test the fit, then have it have is laser cut from metal. It is my understanding, the brace on Amazon doesn’t work with the N6X models either. It is a shame the doors on these model refrigerators break so frequently. There so many complaints, I’m amazed some attorney hasn’t opened up a class action law suit on the a manufacture, which is generally the American “legal community” way! LOL. Good luck everyone!

Fits very nice. On my door the washers supplied were not needed.
Product was very easy to install no effort all. The two items supplied are for top and bottom of fridge door. If needed for the freezer door have to order two items.

Good preventative maintenance!
This product fit my 10 cubic foot Norcold fridge perfectly. I could see where it would be a bit confusing to install but some reading online steered me in the right direction and I had it installed in about 10 minutes. It simply slides on to the bottom of the door to reinforce the existing plastic hinge. There are a left and right hand opening kit included in the package. I agree that it is a bit pricey for what it is, but it works perfectly, looks good, and the fridge door actually closes better now because there is no sagging in the lower hinge. The lower hinge from the factory is plastic only and friends of ours had theirs break and the door fall off spilling the contents of the fridge door all over their unit. If this happens it also destroys the door frame so it is not only inconvenient and messy but expensive.

Works
Does what it's supposed to do. The reason it didn't get 5 stars is that Norcold should provide this free of charge to people who's doors broke due to the cheaply designed plastic hinges.
