Easy to Use

I like this dehydrator. I was able to dry fruit for the granola I’m going to make. It will take time to make to master it. It’s very easy to use.

Great for drying end of season herbs

This is light weight with a small foot print on the counter. I have dried parsley, basil, chives and chicken slices for dog treats. I think I ran it a week straight after the garden came down. It takes many hours to dry anything, so it is not fast. The meat took two days sliced super thin. I bought rubber pads for it to control drips when drying meat (be sure to cut to size and add a center hole). It holds a lot, and it's easy to rotate the layers for even drying even while it's on. I feel it's pretty quiet, but I really don't care for the temperature gauge, as it isn't precise at all. I just dry everything on high, I can't figure that part out, so it lost a few stars there. I have to admit, it's a fun gadget!

Good overall, but it takes time and don't expect dry/crispy fruit.

*** PRO*** Good quality; Easy cleaning; Quiet; Really easy to use; Temperature adjustments; * Low, medium, high Compact *** CON*** Trays are a little bit flimsy; Not powerful, take long time; No crispy result; No timer *** OBSERVATIONS *** My ½ mm (1/64 inch) sliced potatoes wasn’t crispy after 48 hours !; I gave it to my mother for her herbs; *** CONCLUSION *** I recommend it if you don’t need crispy chips and if you can wait. If you are on a budget, it’s affordable (70$ CAN);

Easy On All Counts

After a great deal of research into dehydrators, which included reading customer reviews for each, I decided to purchase this brand. It helped my decision to find one whose packaging was damaged and whose price was lowered more than usual as a result. I've not had any previous experience with dehydrators so I cannot do any comparisons. However, what I can do is tell how this machine has been operating for me so far. The Pros: five trays and room enough for drying whatever you may want to dry. It is pleasantly quiet and so far it has been consistent in terms of operation. It has an on/off button and a dial for selecting low/medium/high settings. It is simple to take apart and put together, has no sharp corners and yet is squarish in overall design, and cleaning it couldn't be simpler. Essentially, it is easy to operate, visually appealing, heat safe, and dependably functional. The Cons: it ought to have some kind of rubber on the bottom to keep it from sliding around so easily. Not that it slides around by itself or anything but, you know, without something underneath to keep it steady... well, the unexpected does occasionally happen, and so I keep it on a silicone mat at all times. But aside from this, so far, I've not encountered any problems whatsoever. I'm happy with this purchase.

For anyone that is looking to get this for fx prothetics

I actually do not buy this for the use of food, but I bought this product for the use of making skin transfers (small SF Prosthetics). This skin transfers are molded pieces of wounds, cuts, bites... and an adhesive to cast from a silicon mold... freeze and then placed into the dehydrator to remove the moist from the prosthetic, once use it can be apply to an actor like a fake tattoo. It's very easy to use and works great! It does the job!

Great Product

This food dehydrator is compact and really QUIET. Pretty sturdy too. It came so quickly, it took less than a day to arrive. So far, I've used it only for fruit dehydration, but looking forward to try jerky and more.
