Rengör din fågelmatare oftare i varmare väder.

Great for multiple birds & squirrels hate it!
Pros: - Holds a lot of birdseed - multiple birds can feed from it simultaneously - outer cage is very sensitive to weight. Larger birds can still land on it and feed from it but even a small squirrel causes the cage to drop and cover the openings to food. - long and flexible hanging loop - attractive Cons: - cleaning isn’t the easiest. - The opening for food at the top isn’t easily accessed and you have to do some contortions to really open it up without badly tweaking the Spring holding everything together. (But it’s definitely worth the extra work for how happy the birds are and how unhappy the squirrels are). - the cage moves so easily that it’s hard to get a good grip on everything for cleaning and feel like you’ve done a thorough job of it. - tendency for moisture to accumulate at bottom of the long rectangular seed holder. We live in NW Oregon and get 90”+ of rain a year. I tossed my old one off these after a year because I just couldn’t avoid having mold problems. This time, I added a rain dome above the feeder and am keeping a much close eye on it to try to avoid this problem. - Filling the long tube that holds birdseed. I’ve finally realized that I should hold the cage down so that it covers all the openings when I pour in the birdseed. Now, I lose maybe a tablespoon of birdseed when I’m filling. - Access to the top of the birdseed tube is a bit wonky. A spring holds everything in place and it’s a tight fit. You remove the lid but since everything is attached together it’s more like lifting the lid slightly off the tube then pushing it to the side enough to open up the top of the tube, then holding down the cage to cover the openings on the sides of the tube, Then using a small-mouthed cup to pour in the birdseed while the birdseed hits the bar (holding the spring and lid and cage…) at the top of the inside of the tube which causes birdseed to scatter. Confusing? Messy? Wonky? Yes. But, still worth it because happy birds, unhappy squirrels. - worst problem? That design of the bar, spring, tube lid, cage contraption. When the feeder arrived, I couldn’t get the feeder cage & lid to work right, everything kept popping off when feeder was filled with seed. Finally figured out that the bar at the inside top of the feeder wasn’t attached properly. Was able to re-work the bar to properly attach both ends to the birdseed tube (I’m not super handy) and now it works like a charm. I highly recommend this bird feeder if you have problem squirrels.

Good concept but springs rust and unhook after 3 months.
I like the concept of heavier critters closing the feeding ports. However after 3 months use, the springs have rusted and one side totally unhooked, closing all port sides entirely. I had noticed the top was higher than the rest and checked only to find the reason for no bird activity. Rehooked and will close all ends with pliers so they don’t unhook again. Also, the ports are at different heights so one must keep the feeder filled to at least half so all ports have seed available. For the price the feeder is just okay but not sure how much longer it will last unless so replace springs and modify. I have 2 other similar concept feeders that I prefer over this but they did cost almost twice as much. I do know that those will last much longer as they are more durable to the elements. If you want a long lasting and durable feeder, shop around. I can’t recommend as I have found over the years that with bird feeders, quality is defined by you get what you pay for. Still better at saving seed waste over the basic open bottom feeders.

Great bird feeder
This is my second feeder like this (first was broken - no fault to the feeder). It's a good size, so I only have to refill it once a week or so (and we get a good many birds). The squirrels avoid it, but I think the doves a difficult time using it (they stick to seeds dropping by the other birds). It's attractibe enough to look at without being overly decorative. My only complaint is that it's a bit annoying to refill because you have to tuck the lid out of the way while you pour the seed in. This also makes it a bit annoying to clean. I wish it had a better lid mechanism. But overall, it serves its purpose and I liked it enough to buy another one when my first was broken.

Had issues
This worked well for a while ( like all squirrel deterrents) But then one day I got back home and the springs had come off their holes and the doors were down so the birds couldn't get in. I was able to get the spring's hooks back into their tiny holes but it was Very difficult because they have to feed in behind the "leaves" I believe the squirrel jumped on it hard and they came undone when it bounced. I bent the hooks a tad hoping they wouldn't just pop off next time. Since these springs aren't the "Adjustable" ones I wish they were secured better, a loop rather than a hook. Seems to be working again for now.

It works
As all of us bird lovers know, squirrels will each more of your store brought feed than the beautiful creatures that visit & enjoy seeing year around. Well, I gave this feeder a try & it really works. As you can see in the picture I took, the squirrels could not get to the feed. I have had it at this level observed 4 days & it's about the same level! My larger birds like Cardinals are having a small problem, but they will figure it out! I am going to buy another soon.

Great squirrel-proof feeder - and the birds love it!
This is the second time I've bought this feeder. The first one lasted almost 6 years before I decided to replace it. It's easy to fill, and it has been squirrel-proof for us. We did put a conical baffle on the pole as well, just to keep the buggers from trying to jump on it, but their weight will definitely pull the feeder down so they can't get anything out of it. The only thing keeping me from giving it 5 stars is that the loop on the wire to hang it is tiny. It's just big enough to get around the pole's hook, and it requires two hands to get it done. I'm not sure why they made the loop so tiny.
