That's a lot of beads!

I just started using Perler beads and I'm loving it, but I ran out of black. I didn't realize how many 6000 was, considering the last time I ordered 6000 beads they were seed beads. Needless to say, I'm good with black beads for now. Now I'm running out of white. ????

Hours of creativity in one bucket.

I've loved perler beads since I was a kid. I'm 30 now and still enjoy crafting with them. I bought this Perler bead bucket for my 6 year old niece to craft with over the summer vacation from school. This purchase was one of the best I could have made. She spent hours nearly every day of summer vacation making different things with perler beads. This is a great bucket to start with if you have never used perler beads before. You get about 6,000 beads (I say about because I didn't count exactly how many are in the bucket but it is advertised as 6,000) in about 30 different colors. It also comes with 5 small pegboards (A star, heart, circle, square and hexagon), 2 sheets of ironing paper and full instructions on how to fuse the beads. You will need an iron to fuse the beads. While there are 6,000 beads in the bucket I recommend buying an individual bag of white (Perler Beads Bead Bag, White ) and black (Perler Bead Bag, Black ) since we ran out of those colors well before we ran out of any others. If your creativity runs dry you can find patterns on perler.com or with a quick google search. My niece actually made a very cute trinket box out of perler beads from a pattern we found in a google search. My niece has been such a fan of perler beads that we've had to replenish our beads several times and she has made everything from cartoon characters to christmas ornaments. This is the perfect activity for rainy days and breaks from school.

excellent color variety

I have been using these for a short time. I like the different shades for most of the colors to choose from but when sorted to use them there isn't much in the amount for each color in the bag. So if you needed a lot of one color you would have to purchase more or even see if there are bags of just that color available.

My 8 and 4 year-old boys love these. They spend hours making all sorts of creations. The plates included are perfect for starting out there are lots of options for creativity. We have done Christmas ornaments, pokemon balls, robots, suns, flowers, etc. My 4 year old (3 at the time) had a little trouble at the beginning getting the beads to stay on the plates. He was determined and practice makes perfect :) he has no issues now! These are so much fun, I even find myself creating things with them or helping them hunt for a particular color. Great rainy day or quiet activity.
