DO NOT PUT TOGETHER CHRISTMAS EVE NIGHT - Great Toy

It's a great dollhouse, but it took 4 1/2 hours to build the night before my daughter's birthday. Oh had I known, I wouldn't have waited! - They couldn't have made this harder to put together. Every single piece that you connect together, requires you to carefully insert an attachment that connects the pieces. It is extremely tedious work, and I had two blisters the following day. - The instructions are just OK - The packaging of all the small items (oh and you cannot be prepared for just how many small items there are) is very disorganized. I will say, the parts were all there, but it takes so much time to find things because there was not a good system and a total lack of labeling. - The manufacturer could make so many improvements here As for the toy and play - There are many, many small pieces that I simply kept in the box. My kids are little and not quite ready for those. - The people and accessories are smaller in person than I realized. This is suitable for an older child I would say. - But so many of the accessory packages (kitchens, baths, bedrooms, etc) are clever and cute. They are well made, just not super big (if you're already familiar with Playmobil than that won't be a surprise to you). - I recommend using a little precision super glue to keep things like the roof in place or one floor to the next and the stairs and railing. A few times, my kids leaned on it to stand themselves up and it came off. It easily snapped back on but with super glue - problem solved. - My kids love the realism of the stairs (so many dollhouses do not have stairs) - I love the colors. My son likes to play, and he doesn't like that there are so many others that are just all pink. This appeals to so many more kids. I love that! - It's so pretty from the front. I like the design and creativity of the "architecture" Overall, it's a great toy.

This is not a toy…

…for remotely close to four-year-olds. This is rather for the parent that played Playmobil themselves and that want to give this to either an older kid or simply a collectors’ item. Assembly takes a while, as indicated on the box. It’s kinda annoying as you’ll have to plug in about a million of those pictured pins. Instructions are step-by-step, but at one step somewhat in the middle (16/27) you’ll have to guess a bit. Material quality and part fit is good and typical for Playmobil has a solid feel to it. This is definitely no China crap and can be given to the next generation - I still have my Playmobil from some 35 years ago!

Nightmare to assemble!

I’ll keep it short and sweet. Pros: My daughter loves playing with this dollhouse. It’s very pretty, detailed and high quality. Cons: It is a nightmare to put together!!! It says assembly should take 90 minutes. That’s a joke! Tons of snapping in tiny connector pieces that don’t go in easily. You end up with blisters and sore hands. You think it’s going to come with all of the accessories as well because it lists so many pieces, but no. All of those pieces you are getting are tiny red and yellow connector pieces that you have to use to snap each part in place. If you want to actually play with the house you’ll need to order the accessories/furniture for each room separately and they are $20-40 per room. That’s a real bummer considering how expensive the house is. *Trust me on this, if you’re buying this for a special occasion, I wouldn’t wait until the night before to assemble it. You’re going to want to give yourself a couple of days. It’s tedious and you will definitely not want to do it in one sitting. I also recommend assembling this after the kids are in bed so they don’t hear you mumbling profanity for 6 hours straight.

Another Gorgeous Playmobil House

I’m an adult collector of Playmobil and Calico Critter houses with an extensive village set up in my spare room, so I have many toy houses in 1:24 scale. This house is stunning. It takes about 1-2 hours to construct, but that’s just the fun of the Playmobil experience. The details are exquisite, and the house is very sturdy and well made. I adore the stained glass window detail on the third floor, and the flower boxes are such a cute touch. I added this to my Calico Critter village, and it’s perfect. It’s nice to see a larger house of this quality. Overall another stunning Playmobil house!

Hurt my hand putting it together...but worth it !

Absolute biggest pain in my ass to put together. The little red pieces were so hard to get in the slots. My hand was messed up after putting it together but it was worth it! My 10 year old could not put this together by herself and was frustrated with the red peices also. But this is a Quality dollhouse once finally put together. My advice is get all the red peices in their slots before attempting to put it together and the rest will go smoothly.

Great toy. After spending hours building it, we found a defective part. Contacted Playmobil UK customer service and they sent a replacement part.
