These work incredibly well. For me this meant worked well for the first five or six uses, then the headband broke just putting them on. Hint: if you use these at the range, make sure you have back up hearing protection. Of course you can spend $21 on their site for a new headband, which I just did, but even if you get ten uses per headband, it can add up to a lot of money that could have gone to cheap plugs and more ammo. Here's the up side. I contacted Pro Ears via email, and they are going to refund my money for the headband, and send me the new headband. Very fast response time by them. Edit, July 8, 2013: I had the band adjusted for my mellon, and gave them to my wife to wear. She has a small head, and snapped the band putting them on. The band is the weakness in these. I just ordered a few to have on hand. The muffs still work great, still on the same batteries, and I've forgotten to turn them off a few times. I shoot with them once a week, and I use them quite a bit in my wood shop. They're great while running the planer, which is way too loud, and hooking them up to the ipod. You turn them on at the lowest volume possible, and you can actually listen to podcasts at a reasonable volume and understand everything while running the planer. When at the range, I can turn these up and hear way better than I usually do, and they seamlessly blocks gunfire noise. Edit, October 27, 2013: I've since broken another headband. Yesterday I discovered one of the muffs doesn't work anymore. The electronic part. I changed batteries, a couple different new batteries just in case, and nothing. So, I spent over $220 on a pair of muffs, plus around $60 on replacement bands. Amazing what $280 bucks does nowadays. I honestly babied these things, too. I just placed an order in for a $45 pair of Howard Leight ear pro. Can't be worse, and I could have bought 5-6 pair for the cost of one pair of these Pro Ears. Three stars for performance while they lasted, zero stars for quality and durability. They'd have to send me a brand new pair free that lasted more than a couple years before I recommended them, either here, or to my shooting friends.
