Nice shoe except
The backing on this particular is flimsy and caves in when putting on; not like the rigid model of the same shoe!

UPDATED REVIEW: BEWARE!! THESE ARE NOT THE W3851 MODEL YOU USED TO BUY!
UPDATE 1/12/19 I purchased 2 pairs of Propet Wash and Wear Slip On Shoes in September of 2018. I usually wear a pair out within 6 months because I walk so much, so I wanted to have an extra pair on hand. Imagine my surprise when I put the 2nd pair on last week and found they didn't fit. They were incredibly tight. Realizing that shoes usually need some breaking in, stretching, etc, I wore them for 4 days, trying very hard to get them to break in and stretch - to no avail. By the end of the 4th day, I could barely walk with the shoes on - and when I took them off, I discovered bruising to the top of my foot from the shoe being so tight. Apparently Propet has changed the style of these shoes - the first pair I bought was the standard model W3851 - but the 2nd pair shipped to me at the same time, even though it was supposed to be the same style, was apparently the newer Wash and Wear Slip On II style. I don't know if they have changed manufacturing companies, changed the style of the shoe, or what they've done, but wearing these shoes is now a new experience in pain. Because I bought both pairs about 6 months ago, I can't return this pair. I've emailed the company and am waiting for a reply. These shoes aren't cheap, and I truly wasn't expecting this at all. In my research, it looks like the W3851 model is being phased out - it's getting hard to find the white/white version in my size at all - everywhere I look, they are out of stock. Very disappointing. I'll have to look elsewhere for a shoe that suits my feet as well as these used to. ------------------------------------- ORIGINAL REVIEW: I will *never* buy any other brand of shoe as long as I can get these! I've worn the Propet Washable Slip-on sneakers for over 5 years now, and go through a pair about every 6 months, because I wear them so frequently and walk a lot. A recent improvement on the construction of the sole is a welcome change - up until this most recent pair I purchased, the sole of the shoe was constructed in pieces and glued to the bottom of the shoe - which meant that as they started to wear down, the pieces would come un-glued and flap away from the bottom of the shoe. (I can't tell you how many times I've super-glued them back together to make the shoes last just a little longer.) Now, the new sole construction is all one piece - a huge improvement! It even feels more stable and solid under my feet than the previous design. Kudos to Propet for this design improvement! Because these shoes are not cheap, and money can be tight at times, when I find them on sale either here on Amazon or elsewhere, I try to pick up a pair if I have the extra money, or when I need to buy a pair, if I can afford it, I buy 2 pair so I won't be stuck wearing worn out shoes (not good for the posture, back or legs), and will always have a pair handy.

Works With All my Extra Inserts And Lasts Well
I like these because I have terrible feet ( plantar fasciitis, achilles tendinitis, bone spurs, etc) and use 2 arch supports and gel padding etc. The supports hold up my arch and tilt my foot back to the outside edge instead of so far inward leaning. This shoe has a high enough forefoot to hold all that and still get my foot in. Also it has a hard tough heel and side area to push back on the outward tilt of the orthotics so I’m not walking on the shoe past the sole area. Regular canvas shoes wear out in no time because of this. And because it’s a slide on, I’m not having to tie shoe strings all day. Most slide on either won’t stay on because the forefoot doesn’t come up high enough to hold it on , or it’s too tight after I get all the extra supports in. So I usually have to get tie on and then fight undone shoestrings. Velcro works ok but I’m not a fan of it as it stops sticking over time. I get these in the smooth leather so they can be wiped clean and polished as needed. Suede leather starts to look bad pretty fast especially when the shoes are worn every day inside and outside as I do. The cost is more than I prefer to spend, but considering how much I wear them and my special difficulties in finding shoes that will work, it’s worth it to me. They last a long time. In fact, my first pair purchased about 3 years ago still look good on the outside. I replaced them because the inside sidewall of the heel area has holes worn from the constant rubbing of the orthotics.

Well made....BUT
I ordered an 8 and an 8 1/2. I ended up sending both back. I recently fractured my left ankle. Thankfully, I did not need surgery. They were very well made......but for me, I needed to use a shoehorn to put on. This defeated my need for a slip on sneaker. I must admit that once I got them ON they were very comfortable.

Very pleased with the way it looks
Purchased the Merlot, Suede shoe. Very pleased with the way it looks. It fits comfortably. Usually wear an 8.5 size, but ordered a 9. The reviews I read regarding whether to buy your normal size or up-size left me still unsure about the right size to buy. The 9 is a "little" big, but i'm satisfied. The extra room will help if I wear socks. As of this review, I'm only on day one of trying it out. So I can't speak to it's longevity. I rated it a 4 because I'm disappointed with the "orthopedic" benefits the shoe is said to have. Specifically the arch support. Arch support has always been very important to me, so I was looking forward to trying this shoe. It is a comfortable shoe, but does not warrant a $70 price tag. I've bought shoe inserts in the past with more arch support and orthopedic benefits than this shoe; at much less cost. Bottom line: good-looking shoe that will wear fine in regards to "slip-on and go". - too expensive for what you're getting. Will probably keep it because I really need a slip-on and go shoe that looks good, but will look elsewhere for a shoe with more support. It has been over 5 months since purchasing this shoe, and I still stand behind my earlier review. I use this shoe strictly for outdoor work and walking with my dogs. It has been used everyday, many times a day, and it has held up very well. I have been very impressed. I was not happy with the price tag, but I have no regrets. The orthopedic insoles I bought for them have helped make them the perfect shoe for my needs.

Great shoes, XXXcomfortable
I just love these shoes, I suffer from edema and wear compression stockings and my feet/ankles still swell up by day’s end, so I wore them around the house first day I got them to break them in, which was not really necessary, they feel like you are wearing slippers. I wore them to go shopping next day the shoe part was a bit loose in the morning but because of the elasticized opening they felt snug and secure to walk in and they still felt great and not too tight at end of day even though my feet had swollen up as usual. They are perfect and I would highly recommend them, they are very well made and I plan of having them for a long time.

Propet makes a great shoe!
The shoe itself was great but hard to put on due to small opening, I normally wear a lace up style but had broken my wrist and was looking for a slip on style shoe, I couldn't just 'slip ' this on. I have bought propet shoes for years. I will definitely consider the shoe when I am recovered. Propet is a great brand ..My co-workers talk about sore feet but I do not. I live in my propet's
