A PRODUCT THAT DOES WHAT IT SPRAYS ...

I have used various sea salt sprays in the past, and am always happy to try new ones for comparison. Part way between hairspray and volumiser, sea salt spray can help a lot in holding hair in place whilst being versatile in allowing hair to be styled. This particular one comes in a slim bottle with pump action spray. It is not large, and rather slimline, so seems expensive at the current price of around £20. The good news is that only a small amount is needed each time, and this can be controlled thanks to the spray action. The makers advise use on damp hair, so after showering I lightly sprayed small amounts all over. I believe it is important not to use too much, as more than even the smallest amount can make the hair feel stiff and dry. I then ran my fingers through to distribute it, and brushed my hair back before blow drying in the usual way. I have rather fine hair that tends to become flyaway, so the first thing I noticed was that the hair felt fuller and actually stayed in place without feeling too stiff. There's not really any smell either, which is a good thing in my opinion. It certainly made a difference. I would think this product can be used for various hair types and styles. The example in the manufacturer's listing suggests this is good for that 'tousled' look whereby the hair can just be scrunched and left to dry naturally. Great if you have thick hair, but for me, I am just happy to use regularly to stop my hair from flopping about and needing combing every 30 seconds !! A good product which acts as it should, if a little overpriced.

Great product, but small bottle, and high price.

I went through a phase of using sea salt sprays to texture my hair, but these were expensive, and I eventually ended up making my own for a fraction of the price. The problem with regular use of sea salt products is that they dry your hair out, and end up making it brittle. This product is sea salt free, and instead contains a number of elements to hold hair in place, whilst also conditioning, and nourishing it. I was sceptical it would work as well as sea salt spray, but I'm really impressed. It doesn't leave hair feeling sticky, or unnatural, and holds a style/wave just as well, for just as long. You apply it to wet hair, massage through, and leave to air dry. It's simple, really effective, and I love the product. The only problem I have is the price, because you only get a relatively small 125ml for £19.48 (£17.53 with the current 10% off voucher). If you have shorter hair this bottle will last a reasonable amount of time, but with long hair, and if you reapply during the course of the day, it's not going to last that long at all. My advice, as with all purchases, is look around, because although this is a new product, you can find it cheaper from sellers, and in some cases considerably cheaper. It's a great product though, and I highly recommend it.

Easy to apply, pleasant scent, left my hair feeling soft and natural.

The media could not be loaded. Fast delivery, very well packaged in its own box with instruction manual. The sea salt-free formula is a big plus for me as I often find sea salt sprays can be quite drying on my hair, but this spray left my hair feeling soft and natural. The spray is easy to apply and has a pleasant scent. I found that it gave my hair a nice texture and definition, without making it feel crunchy or stiff. The matte finish is also a nice touch, as it gives a more natural look and prevents hair from looking too shiny or greasy. In terms of hold, I would say that the medium hold is accurate. It helped my waves stay in place throughout the day, but it wasn't so strong that my hair felt weighed down or sticky. The bottle is a good size for travel or for keeping in your bag, and I appreciate that it has a secure cap so you don't have to worry about it leaking. Overall, I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a sea salt-free alternative to achieve effortless, textured waves with a natural, matte finish.

Smells nice

At £20.50 it is expensive but it does work well and it smells lush. My hair has got a slight wave to it anyway but this does make a little difference. The waves didn't last as long as I'd hoped for, but you can reapply (sparingly!). You don't really need to use a lot because it will make your hair go hard (like when you use too much hairspray!), so you just need to use a small amount. Definitely more effective when using on wet/damp hair. Edit.. After using this for a few more days, I feel like it leaves my hair a little greasy by the end of the day...

For definition, texture and volume...

Good for giving texture and will add volume to hair if that's what you're after, I think this Beach Spray is pretty good. It's certainly easy to use and fuss-free but if you use too much it will remove all softness from your hair. You only need a little, I'd say - less than you'd use perhaps in the case of hairspray - and it smells most attractive. As styling sprays of this type go, this one's good - all you'd expect from a premium hair products' brand that's now over sixty years old. If you'd like to try a sea salt spray, in my view Redken's Beach Spray would be a good starting point. It will let you see what - at best - such a spray can achieve. This 125ml pump spray bottle is not huge but given how little you need to use it should last me some time. I like the definition it brings to my hair. Worth trying.
