Great shoe, minor defect

One of my all-time favorite casual shoes. I have worn out many of this exact model. This one had a slight defect in the left shoe, like a small stone lodged in the arch that lifts it slightly enough to be felt. I sometimes add insole cushions so that I can wear the shoes longer but can't with this pair because it amplifies that slight raised area to an uncomfortable point. So this pair will just have to go without the insoles. I'll probably still wear them out.

A bit oversized.

I already had these exact shoes in size 10, now about six years old and looking a bit old, decided to get a new pair, a 10 always fits me in any make of shoe so ordered 10s, they were surprisingly big and I could walk out of them easily. I returned them and ordered a 9 1/2 which are still bigger then expected, I can get them on and off without untying after only 2 weeks use. I think that when they are 'broken in' they will be falling off! I recommend that you order a full (UK) size less than normal with this shoe unless you want a really loose fit. I need to wear thicker socks now to keep them on. NB the above does refer to wearing thinnish cotton socks, which will make a difference.

DON'T BUY THESE SHOES

I have worn Rockport shoes for years with two previous pairs, which I have loved, finding them very comfortable and hard wearing. This last pair however have been a real disappointment. They are very loose, stiff and uncomfortable I ordered my usual size, 9.5UK as before but within a day or two of wearing them they felt too big and seemed to stretch very quickly to at least a size 10 or more. Tightening the leather lace hasn't helped, I've had to keep doing so, to the extent that the tongue is creased across the instep and just adds to the discomfort of wearing and walking in these shoes. What happened to Rockport? If I hadn't worn them for over a week while away from home and immediately after I got them I would have returned them. I think it's too late now.

Diappointing product and seller

These shoes were disapointing. The fit was poor, the soles feel too thin and needed an insole. When the stitching failed the supplier refused to take them back because I had had them for too long (I always buy well ahead of needing to replace an item so I hadn't worn them immediatly)

rockport's at rock bottom

Great shoes, darker brown than the average timberland, but good quality. Typically selling at £80 so anything less is a deal worth having. Past experience is that these are good long lasting shoes
